ECS Adds City of Rain as Sub-Group

After the announcement that Seattle was going to get an MLS team Emerald City Supporters leadership recognized that ECS structure needed to change to accommodate the influx of fans as we got closer to the kickoff of the MLS team. With the change came the idea of having Emerald City Supporters be able to support special interest groups, or sub-groups as we call them.
Webster’s defines “sub-group” as: “A distinct group within a group; a subdivision of a group” and they’re not far off from how ECS uses the term. The idea is that if there are a like-minded or like-circumstanced group of supporters then they would be able to form a sub-group underneath the Emerald City Supporters organization that distinguishes themselves from the pack.
This means that if you’re at a school, like City of Rain Supporters who come from Seattle University, or just have a bunch of drinking buddies that always hang together, or come up from Tacoma on Doyle’s Pub’s bus we can accommodate you.
NOTE: ECS will not accommodate subgroups that discriminate based on race, sex or gender and has the right to refuse sub-groups that violate their core principals of togetherness and mission of supporting Seattle Sounders FC.
About the City of Rain Supporters:
Hey everyone, I’m Erin Lane, founder of the City of Rain Supporters, subgroup of Emerald City Supporters…
I’ve played soccer all my life and been a die hard fan for the latter half of it. I would love to see the passion and support that soccer experiences all over the world to come to Seattle and eventually all of the USA. I want to help create an atmosphere in which all SSFC supporters of all ages can unite in their love of the Sounders to create the most intense and intimidating atmosphere in all of the MLS. Together we can make Qwest field a fortress for our Sounders. The ownership has already expressed its desire to involve the fans as much in the team as possible and I hope to help make that connection and ensure that match days can be the best they can be.
How can your group become an ECS subgroup? We’re currently ironing out the process as it’s a work in progress. However, the first step would be to contact us at ecs@weareecs.com and tell us a bit about yourself.
