Elect a Passionate Spokesman: McKenzie Clark!

If you want someone on the council who is truly passionate and truly dedicated to ECS, look no further than McKenzie Clark! You might recognize his name from all the ECS alerts on Facebook, from sending out your membership package or recognize him from seeing him pitchside!
The Sounders FC Alliance is a body of Sounders fans that acts as a democratic body for Seattle Sounders FC, helping to provide the fan’s demands and desires for the direction of the club. Within the Alliance is the Sounders FC Alliance Membership Council, where any Alliance member can be elected to represent season ticket holders by acquiring 25 votes from their fellow Alliance members.
McKenzie Clark looks to be the fourth person to represent the Emerald City Supporters, and is gathering votes to be on the Alliance Council.
McKenzie’s love for the beautiful game spawned as a player, where at the age of 4, he started what would be 10 years of team play in local Bellevue and Issaquah soccer leagues. It wasn’t until 2006, as he watched the US national team struggle against the Group of Death, when he also became interested in soccer as a spectator.
On November 13th, 2007, he purchased season tickets when it was announced that Seattle would be joining Major League Soccer. He followed the MLS club intently from afar for several months, but it wasn’t until the news of the Sounders reaching the quarter finals of the US Open Cup that McKenzie saw the Seattle team play in more than 10 years. While watching Seattle defeat Kansas City, he unexpectedly sat in the same section as a group that called themselves the Emerald City Supporters, and immediately became a member.
At the end of the 2008 USL season, he became involved with the ECS leadership as they too made the transition to MLS. Since then, McKenzie has been working closely with the other members of ECS leadership to help create the most fantastic atmosphere in the MLS. Some of the points McKenzie wants to address with the Council include: designing a plan to help accommodate a larger seating capacity on game day, determining better methods for fans to better know Council members, and helping to establish more efficient lines of communication both from the fans to management and from management to the fans.
McKenzie is known as MMClark on the SoundersFC.com and ECS forums. He can be contacted at mmclark@weareecs.com. He looks to join ECS members Greg Mockos, Robby Branom, and Mark Inderhees on the Alliance Council.
So get out and rock the vote if you haven’t yet. Hell, rock the vote even if you have voted already! Spread the word about McKenzie! He’s good people.
See you on the Terraces,
Keef
