Help Gorilla FC to Help Home Alive

Looking for something to do tomorrow night? Get on out and drink for a worthy cause!

If your Thursday night is looking at all like mine is then you’re looking for something to do. Well, we’ve got just the thing. From fellow Sounders Supporters Gorilla FC comes a great way to spend a Thursday night:

Let’s get as many Gorilla FC fans, normal people and Seattle Sounders fans together to raise money for Home Alive at
Shortys’
2222 2nd Ave # A
Seattle, WA 98121

If you can’t make it, donate at homealive.org

Home Alive is a Seattle based anti-violence non-profit organization that offers affordable self-defense classes and provides public education and awareness. We believe violence prevention is a community responsibility as well as an individual issue. Our work in self-defense encourages everyone to recognize their entitlement to the basic human right to live free from violence and hate. Our goal is to build a cultural and social movement that puts violence in a context of political, economic and social oppression, and frames safety as a human right.

Lets fill a jar full of cash to send to them. It will also be a good night to meet other Gorilla FC fans and catch up on the Sounders. There will be a pinball tournament with $10 entry at 9pm with all proceeds going to Home Alive. Winner takes home a Shorty’s shirt and the pride of being the winner of the first annual Gorilla FC Medieval Madness Champion. Get drunk for a good reason!

There will be a raffle drawing for $5 that could land you one of various prizes. There are two Fado gift certificates for $50 each, Neumo’s gift card and tickets to any show, dinner for 2 at Kristos on Eastlake, a gift card to the Taphouse, some Home Alive CD’s, a Home Alive shirt, and the opportunity to wear the Gorilla FC costume at the first game!!!!

Our goal is to get $1000. If we reach that goal, we have helped Home Alive much more than we ever expected. While that is only 1/25 of their debt, that only means 24 other groups or events need to happen to help an organization that is a Seattle community stronghold. VIVA MIA ZAPATA! Please look up the history of Home Alive, the Gits and support our local community.

Invite anyone you think maybe interested-even if you have no interest in the Sounders or Gorilla FC!
