March 16th Home vs Timbers

From Jason Welch:

On May 2, 1975, the Seattle Sounders defeated the Portland Timbers in their inaugural game at Portland Civic Stadium (currently known as Jeld-Wen Field) in front of a crowd of 8,000 plus spectators, and ignited a rivalry that is now known as one of the most passionate derbies in American football history. The battleground of this war has spanned four leagues and nearly four decades. Now, once again, the time has come for us to stoke the embers of the bonfire and begin the rivalry anew for the 2013 season.

March 16th, at 5pm, the stage will be set at Royal Brougham Park (RBP) as the two sides square off against each other and begin this year's conflict for the rightful owner of the Cascadia Cup.

Having taken in a new manager and undergoing a huge overhaul since last season's miserable finish near the bottom of the table, the traveling contingent of the Timbers Army will be looking to this match for Porter to put his mark on his new managerial position, and prove he's the man for the job. Meanwhile Sigi and the Boys from Seattle will be lacing up their boots to once again establish who the real heavyweights are here in the NW and to topple the fake crown of the self-proclaimed "Kings of Cascadia".

As one battle rages on the field, another will be burning in the stands. So it's time to grab your scarf, clear your throat, and join us to cement our foothold as the best supporters group in the league. As the rest of the nation looks on, we will hold our ground to deal the first blow that will eventually bring our rivals to their knees, and get us closer to bringing the Cascadia Cup back home - where it belongs.

We are the ECS. We are Sounders till we die. We fight them here.
