Who We Are
The Armed Services Group (ASG) is the official Military sub-group of the ECS. We are a group of individuals joined by our love of country, service and Sounders! Our members are active duty, guard, reserves, separated and retired service members, their families and all those that support the Armed Services. We not only have members in the Puget Sound area, but all over the United States and around the world.
The ASG was established in the 2009 inaugural season. The main purpose of the ASG is to grow support for the Seattle Sounders among our fellow military service members and families.
What We Do
In addition to Away Match viewings and Happy Hours, the ASG is also involved in the community. In 2011 we developed a partnership with the Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB) on Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). An ASG member will host a WTB member for a match and introduce them to the typical “ECS Match Day Experience.” ASG members also have the opportunity to be a part of the On-field events during Military Appreciation Day. Other projects we participate in are sending boxes to our deployed members and working with the Fisher House on JBLM. We are constantly looking for other Veteran and Military Organizations to partner with to not only show our support for our fellow veterans and service members, but also to spread the love we share for the Sounders!
How To Join
To join ASG all you need is a bona-fide connection the US military and/or Allied Forces. Visit the “Muster Up and Roll Call” thread in the ASG Sub-forum. Sign up in the thread and you’re a member!
For away match viewings, our official bar is The Office on Pacific in Tacoma. You can usually find a member or two there just hanging out after work, or watching some EPL or other league matches (they are very footy friendly!).
