Join ECS on our trip to see the Sounders embarrass the defending MLS Cup Champions in RSL’s home opener. We have 260 tickets reserved so this is going to be a big party and you don’t want to miss out. We’ll drink some beer, chase their women, and show them what real support is all about.

Tickets

Tickets are on sale now. Log into the ECS shop and buy your RSL tickets today! They are $15 for ECS members and $17 for non members. ECS has secured 260 tickets in section 234 at Rio Tinto Stadium. This section will be treated just like the Brougham End in Qwest: it is General Admission, obstructed view during the game from tifo, and the front is reserved for Capos.

Travel

You are on your own for planing travel. If you fly Alaska Airlines, before you buy your tickets, check out our EasyBiz info to help ECS at no cost to you. There is an airport to hotel shuttle and public transit to and from the game, so you do not have to rent a car.

To Salt Lake City

Fly
Airfair is about $240 as of February 1. Try Bing Travel and Kayak.com to find flights.

Drive
841 miles, 13 hours each way, see Google Map directions. This is about $170 in gas round trip. Organize rides on our forum thread.

Train
Takes 2 days each way.

Between Hotel and Rio Tinto Stadium

The hotel and Rio Tinto are both located near the Sandy/Salt Lake UTA TRAX line. The hotel is near the Courthouse Station. The stadium is at the Sandy Expo Station. Trip time is about 45 minutes, see the Google Map directions.

Reserve your room, deadline is March 18. If you would like to stay for days different than Friday and Saturday night, please call Red Lion directly at (801) 521-7373 and mention the ECS rate. Even though the website says these rooms are double occupancy, we have an agreement with the hotel that it is alright to have 4 in a room.

Schedule (tentative)

  • Friday 8:00 PM-2:00 AM: Night-before party in downtown Salt Lake City.
  • Saturday 12:00-3:00 PM: Pregame at the pub.
  • Saturday 3:00 PM: Take over light rail train to Rio Tinto!
  • Saturday 4:00-6:00 PM: Pregame tailgate at Rio Tinto.
  • Saturday 6:00 PM: March to the Match!
  • Saturday 7:00-9:00 PM: The game.
  • Saturday evening: Meetup at the pub for post-game victory drinks.
