Tonight is Brian Schmetzer's 400th match as head coach of the Seattle Sounders. Across 2 different eras, the stats are impressive: over 200 wins, 2 USL regular season championships, 2 USL League championships, 2 MLS Cup championships, 4 Cascadia Cup championships. But Schmetz's contribution to the club is much deeper than the on-field accomplishments, he's been part of the fabric of the club since he signed with the club as a player in 1980. His commitment to the club, love for the city and its people, and passion for the relationship between the club and fans show that he is more than a head coach, he is our steward. We'll proudly sing for Schmetz for hundreds more (and hopefully a few more championships), but his position in our club's history is secure:

The Emerald City Supporters are committed to supporting our players and our club. With home matches resuming without fans our in-stadium support is limited. The most important thing we can do is support the fight for social justice and Black Lives Matter. Last Wednesday in LA our players showed their commitment to this fight, and we are proud to stand with them against systemic racism.

Keep Writing History

This display was inspired by Royal Brougham, legendary Seattle sportswriter and the namesake of the Brougham End. The Brougham Beat documents the 2019 MLS Cup run from the opening round thriller against Dallas in which Jordan Morris scored the extra time winner, the challenge by Xavier Arreaga that set the tone as the Sounders knocked out LAFC, and the celebration as the team lifted the MLS cup in front of 69,274.

While this display is a celebration of 2019’s championship, it’s also a reminder that both on the field and in the stands, we have a lot more to accomplish. Join the Emerald City Supporters this year as a member, as a volunteer, as a voice in the Brougham End and on the road as we look to write more history!

ParaGanar2020

While ECS is opposed to the MLS is Back tournament, our support for our players is unwavering. During this pandemic, we have not been able to do all that we love as supporters, but we did not let that stop us from showing our support for our boys. So until we are all able to paint and sew together, sing to the glory of our club, and raise a beer to victory, we hope this raises the spirits of our boys.

As always we remain Eternal Blue, Forever Green.

Para Ganar Los Sounders!

CHAMPIONS, again.

It feels good, doesn't it? Players and supporters alike have spent the last 2 months relishing the joys of victory, but this week the Sounders returned to the training field. And, as is tradition, we joined them there to set the tone for the season. Sports teams worldwide suffer from championship hangovers, starting slow in the season after winning their league, so our message was simple: STAY HUNGRY.

Off the field, ECS is getting to work too. Check out the new calendar for ongoing tifo and merch work events, we need every ECS member to STAY HUNGRY and help push our support to new levels and propel the team to greatness again in 2020.
