Over the last few days, our city has felt the loss of one of our most talented sons in Chris Cornell. The possibility that he may have taken his own life drives that pain a little deeper.
Some of you may have also heard that one of our own, a veteran and member of ASG, lost the battle with his own demons. We ask that you keep his family in your thoughts, and beg of you - if you feel like you have no other option - to recognize that we're all here for you. Talk to anyone here, reach out to a crisis line, but do not feel like you are alone. For many of our veterans in Seattle and beyond, this sport, this club, and this group are their family, their informal support group, their therapy. For them, for us all, let's come together as one voice. Eternal blue, forever green, Sounders 'til we die.
For anyone reading this - we ask that if you see someone, anyone, that might need a shoulder to lean on, or you think you could be of assistance to someone, please do so. We're all brothers, sisters, family, no matter what. We're proud to share that for Saturday's Military Appreciation Match, ECS / ASG had 22 members participate on the field to help with an on field display and to honor our fallen ASG member.
Thank you for supporting the Sounders and your fellow members in any way you can.
