VOTE Kelly Weiler SSFC ALLIANCE COUNCIL

General ECS talk.

Unread postby finnfan » Tue Oct 1, 2013 2:22:30 pm

We have already voted nine ECS members into the council in this election cycle, and after a shot pause it is time to make our final push for the season. Our next candidate is Kelly Weiler (aka McTrixie). If elected, Kelly will serve a two-year term that starts on February 1, 2014 and ends on January 31, 2016. As always, 25 votes are needed, and as of this writing Kelly already has three. See here for updates on vote totals: http://www.soundersfc.com/alliance/coun ... otals.aspx

The Alliance Council is getting more and more new members, so it is now more important than ever to make sure we vote several ECS members in. Once elected, these Council Members will safeguard our common ECS interests in the Council.

You can vote here, and it will take just a few minutes of your time:

https://vote.soundersfc.com/

To login to the voting system you need the e-mail address that you used when you bought your season tickets and your season ticket account number. If you have been designated as an Alliance member by a season ticket holder, you will need to know their account number. The voting system will show you a list of available candidates. Locate Kelly Weiler on the list and cast your vote by clicking "Choose".

If you are interested in becoming an ECS endorsed candidate, you can contact ECS Leadership, see further instructions here: http://www.weareecs.com/phpBB/viewtopic ... 26&t=21249 Note that only ECS endorsed candidates are allowed to campaign on the ECS forums and other official ECS outlets like the ECS Facebook page. We are doing this because we want to maximize the ECS representation on the council, and the best way to do that is to make sure that votes from ECS members go to candidates that will get the necessary 25 votes rather than spreading those votes around to several candidates who all fall short of the 25 vote threshold.

Finally, I want to re-stress that we need to elect new Council Members so that we guarantee the continuation of a strong ECS representation on the Council. All season ticket holders have a vote and they should definitely use it. We all know that the Alliance Council has limited power, but nevertheless they take care of some important business, such as Cascadia away ticket allocations, which is obviously of utmost importance to the ECS.

Who Are Ya?

Originally from Harrisburg, PA I now reside in North Seattle with my husband, daughter, and our amazing dog, The Yosh. I’ve been a Season Ticket Holder since 2010 and an ECS member since 2011. I am also a part of the ECS Travel Monkey team and am often found helping to sew TIFO.

Why do you want to be a Council member?

I love the Sounders almost to the point of obsession . My husband and I travel to at least half of the away games each year, standing with the ECS and cheering our hearts out. Our home seats are in section 239, and I would like to be a Council member to help represent those ECS members that do not have seats in the Supporters section. While I recognize the importance of Council members representing this very important group I feel there is also a need for those of us scattered elsewhere throughout the stadium to have our voices heard. I would love to take advantage of the unique opportunity offered to us by the Sounders organization and be part of the Alliance Council.

I'm stuck at 4. That's the same number as Paul Wacker :(

I'll be in Denver for the COL away game. If we haven't met, I'll find you at the tailgate and pressure, I mean ask you for a vote!

Thanks to those that voted so far :)

Do you know if the votes allowed reset after January? I've got lots of people saying they'll give me a vote as soon as they get more because they used theirs already.

The current voting cycle will continue until the end of January. The next one will theoretically start on February 1st, but past experience tells us that in practice it will probably start significantly later. Anyway, at that point all vote totals will be zeroed, and everybody can vote again. I would assume those who did not make it past the 25 vote threshold will need to nominate themselves again.

Unless you designated them to separate email addresses and voted 3 times, just one vote.

Thanks for the vote! Dylan, can't subscribe vote once for each ticket on the account?

Also, I'm up to 11, only 14 to go!

Only if the extra tickets were delegated at the beginning of the season. That's part of why we're pushing seat delegation for this coming season.
