Lesser Known/Used Songs

General ECS talk.

Unread postby fruitbat820 » Sat Sep 6, 2014 12:44:33 am

I was wondering if there is a link or historical list of lesser known songs/chants and when they were first sang in the ECS archives. I've seen YouTube videos of "Our House in the Middle of BC" from the USOC win in Vancouver, but I would love to see footage or a list of other songs as well :)

We are doing our best to compile all of the songs with video. You'll find them in our songs area of this website. It's though though because a lot of these are situational and the photogs arnt always cued up for it. Our YouTube account is another great source for ECS video content. Can be found by searching

Yep, I'm a frequent visitor to the YouTube channel. Thanks for the info. I look forward to them being posted on the website.

A number of the pre-ECS songs were based on nursery rhymes or Christmas songs.
I could dig through my Sounders memorabilia box to see if I can find an old song card, but I can't make any promises.

One was done to "Winter Wonderland" and we also use to do version of the common "Here We Go, Here We Go, Here We Go!" chant.

Well, well, well...look what I found...

Oh man...That stuff is gold!

We really should bring this one back.

Here's a reference from the Seattle Times about the "Our House" song that was loud enough at an away Chivas match that it made the lead paragraph of the match report :D

Later versions sung at Colorado and YVR borrowed from this one.

This one was changed depending on the color jerseys we wore that day... it was used regularly for quite some time.

I looked at the old song link and got a chuckle out of the You are my sunshine thing... it wasn't a regular but it was sung at Sounders games by the pod in the early 2000's on occasion... before the TA started doing it with the whole Timber Jim's daughter thing that went down.

A few other ones that aren't on that list that were used from time to time in the mid 00's were a version of Black Eyed Peas' "Let's get it started" that was sung at kickoff for awhile. "Beat on the Craps" was sung a lot more then than it has been in the MLS era.

A lot of the children's/xmas tunes were ones that were standard 80's/90's stuff in England that the smallish numbers in SG's at the time were somewhat familiar with. Many of the tunes were also sung by Sam's Army back then at US games, hence a lot of that stuff showed up at club games too.

I don't think you'll see much from the USL era since not many ppl brought video cameras to games back then. Only one with a fair amount of footage that I'm aware of is the 5-0 beatdown of the cRapids in the '07 open cup. We sung "Can we play you every week" and "Are you P*rtland in disguise" a lot that night!

Ah yes, the Montero hat trick match. Honestly, the Sounders played like absolute garbage during that match, but Chivas was so much worse it didn't matter. Much fun was had by all.

Man, to think that Chivas use to pull almost 12k only 2 years ago.

chivas numbers were inflated at that match as well... though compared to what they're drawing this year, the crowds looked huge.
