The Jon Glyer Memorial ECS Player of the Year Award is named after a fallen ECS brother who, in his short time in the ECS, embodied the mentality we all hold so dear. In the same tradition, each year we vote on who deserves to be named The Jon Glyer Memorial ECS Player of the Year. Previous winners have been Keller, Alonso, Rosales, Gspurning, and Evans

One vote per membership; the Winner will be announced at the End of Season Party in December.

This award is not necessarily intended for the best or favorite player of the year, but instead for the player the best embodies the spirit of ECS.

Strong arguments have been made for Zach Scott this season after his support of our #soccerforall campaign and after his gutsy performance in the open cup final playing injured for quite a stretch.

These are just some examples of how a player can exemplify the Idea of the ECS POTY award.

There's a lot of great candidates this year. Should be an exciting vote.

Chad Motherfucking Barrett also seems like the kinda guy who embodies the spirit of ECS.

A good rule of thumb when voting is to think, "Would this player actually understand and appreciate ECS and that we're giving them our award?"

If not, probably not the right kind of player.

Scott is a good shout. Hahnemann is on my list for this award too (sure is something about goalkeeper's brains that they "get it", ain't there?).

Zach Scott, the guy loves this group and I don't think any player on this squad would appreciate it more. Make this happen.

I can definitely see the argument for Chad Barrett but for me Zach is the man this year!

I also see the argument for Chad Barrett...but Zach Scott playing the last 10 minutes of the USOC Final with a wrecked knee and ankle nailed it for me.

Zach's next appearance will be his 300th in a Sounders kit.

Zach's mom thanked us with tears in her eyes when we did the Hang Ten tifo for ten years as a Sounder. She sang alongside us at several away matches.

Zach was the only Sounder player who tweeted at us when we decided we had to boycott San Jose away, saying "You stand with us, we stand with you. We'll miss you in San Jose."

Man gets it. Just saying.

You make strong points Glenn. I'm voting for Zach Scott's mom now.
