Each year, members of the ECS are invited to vote for their favorite player of the year. The award is officially named "The Jon Glyer Memorial ECS Player of the Year Award" and is named after a fallen ECS brother who, in his short time in the ECS, embodied the mentality we all hold so dear.

This award is not just presented to the player with the most goals or the most assists. This award it presented to the player who best embodies the values that we, as supporters, hold so dear. It's about the passion and the pride. It's the moments like Pineda kissing the crest after scoring in Vancouver; its about the players who, week after week, leave it all on the pitch; the moments in time that prove their love for this City and Crest.

Previous winners have been Keller, Alonso, Rosales, Gspurning, Evans and Scott.

One vote per membership; the Winner will be announced at the End of Season Party in December.

Silly question. Has this always been in General? No issue with it being here, but I always thought this was in Insider so only paid members could vote?

Same place as last year.

I have to give my vote to Stefan Frei. Not only for his performance on the field, but I feel like he's shown much love and respect to ECS this year. It technically started with his appearance at our end of year party last year where he danced the night away with us.

As Liz said, "This award it presented to the player who best embodies the values that we, as supporters, hold so dear. It's about the passion and the pride."

That criteria is so important to me, really hope people vote based on that!

Who are the winners from the past two years?
I didn't see who won last year posted, and I didn't make the party.

Nonetheless, Brad Evans.

I believe it's in order from oldest to newest winners.

Frei. Amazing guy, has been close to the supporters and understands us, and he's kept us in the game more times than we could have asked for this season.

(Also, we practically had to kick him and his wife out of last season's end of the year party when it ended, he didn't want to leave)

Are you saying that if Frei wins we might actually have a winner attend the party!?!?

Given how much fun he and his wife had last year, I'm not sure we could keep him away whether he wins or not :P

I won't tell anyone how they should vote, and if any of the players already named won, I'd feel like it was well deserved.

But I'd like to single out Tyrone Mears. He's stayed healthy all season, so he's been a major contributor when so many were injured/suspended/called up. And when we were playing like crap, look at his public statements (social and traditional media) regarding playing for the crest and playing up to the level of support. The man clearly "gets it". Plus, that game vs DC where he basically shouldered the team and got the three points... That seals it for me.
