But I'd like to single out Tyrone Mears. He's stayed healthy all season, so he's been a major contributor when so many were injured/suspended/called up. And when we were playing like crap, look at his public statements (social and traditional media) regarding playing for the crest and playing up to the level of support. The man clearly "gets it". Plus, that game vs DC where he basically shouldered the team and got the three points... That seals it for me.

This is a good post.

Great points. He was my runner-up, definitely. I think he's gone all-in for the bulk of this season, says what he feels, and has been a great addition to the backline. Plus, he's a big part of that hair game the club is currently working.

Mears came to mind for me as well. I'll also throw out some good words for Lamar Neagle. The man has more minutes played this season than just about anyone on the team. He fought through some dry spells. He has to constantly be on the same mental level as Deuce and Oba during the game (which I can't even begin to understand). Like Mears you could count on him to be healthy and hustling all game, all season. I know some aren't his biggest fan and that's totally fine. But as far as "getting it" i think he's top 3.

What Brad has been asked to do this year is really exceptional...he deserves it IMO...but I think Frei will get it and to be fair he is also super deserving this year

I chose Friberg. I never see him slacking, his energy is contagious, and he is a dogged but clean player. He is a less-sassy version of Ozzie. Each match I have seen him, I want to give him MOTM.

My 2 cents!

It's Zach Scott for me, although it is such a hard choice (one that is lovely to have). Dude has been playing with a broken bone in his foot, still plays out of his mind, and embodies what it is to play for our crest. Amazing individual, like many of our players, but given the performances of this season, how he has stepped in and stepped up, he gets my vote. Plus, pretty sure he isn't all human. Part wombat, grizzly bear, part terminator.

There are a number of worthy choices.

Frei, Mears, Pineda, Evans, and Scott seem to be the obvious choices, but I would also throw Barrett into that group.

Not saying I voted for Chad, but he has many qualities that the ECS J.G. POTY award was created for.

Voted for Stefan for a number of reasons. He loves this city, loves this club, and loves the supporters. It's not easy filling the shoes of two former ECS J.G. POTY winners in Keller and Gspurning but he has done so admirably, despite getting off to a rocky start last season.
