2016 MatchPass Changes

General ECS talk.

Unread postby crdiaz73 » Fri Feb 19, 2016 2:32:34 pm

For what it is worth I was confused by the vagueness of how the new 2016 MatchPass has changed from last year, so I called the MatchPass 800 # and spoke to a representative to get some clarity.

So apparently there will be no more swiping of any MatchPass card or electronic barcode on anything. There will no longer be anyway to earn/redeem points based on what you buy at the stadium because they stated they had a lot of issues with point discrepancies.

They also stated that there will no longer be any pregame discounted food, beer or drinks of any kind this year!

You will now be able to enter into a random drawing for MatchPass Rewards of your choosing or have choose the "Buy Now" Rewards and pay a fee for it !

This is just an FYI and I thought you would be interested in the new MatchPass Reward Program.

I think we need to let the FO know how we feel about this? Good or Bad? Thoughts !

Changes this year blow.

I'd rather go back to old-school paper tickets than this shit.

Also this pretty much says if you don't own a smart phone you are not the demographic we want to cater towards and are trash!

Their roll out was pretty terrible and it's not at all intuitive how to download your matchpass from their app. They should have done better with that, definitely.

But that being said, I really like having just a digital version of my matchpass and not having to carry around an extra card. Execution was bad and it probably should've been an opt-in for the first year but I like the idea.

I assume if you don't have a smartphone or if its dead you can still print a ticket at the stadium?

Has anyone else had trouble actually viewing their tickets in the android app? Both myself and a coworker click to view the tickets and get a blank screen after it "processes"

I get the same issue when I try to go to account manager and view tickets for individual games. However, under "Profile", I'm able to view and save the matchpass itself.

Yeah, took me a while to find it. Its super confused, since the place where it seems like they SHOULD be is blank. Profile is not where I expected them.

Yes you can still print at the stadium.

OR I just heard a few reps will have mobile chargers you can use if you wanna wait a little bit outside the stadium. (At least for tomorrow)

Also all money from the new Buy Now rewards goes to Sounders Community Partners, Rave Foundation, and a charity of the Alliance Council's choice.

If we have GA tickets, do they still need to be printed out and shown/marked in the GA entrance?

You'll receive a wristband just like last year, your phone is fine to show your ticket.

Are ECS Travel Monkey tickets somehow different? I just received my Club America CCL Home match tickets and it clearly says "Print your ticket and bring it with you." I'm hoping this is old out-of-date wording.
