New MLS standardized bag policy

General ECS talk.

Unread postby bougiehoolie » Tue Apr 19, 2016 2:08:01 pm

All -

A quick heads up that MLS has instituted a new security policy regarding bags. As far as we understand it, it will take effect for this weekend's games, including our away match in Colorado. While CenturyLink previously allowed 12"x12"x12" bags that were screened / wanded by stadium staff, MLS is going to a 100% standard 14"x14"x6", so the previous rules we had will no longer apply.

Expect to continue seeing standard wanding and bag size checks at home matches, but the bag size WILL BE ENFORCED at our next home match on 4/30 vs. Columbus.

Please let us know if you have any questions on this matter. SSFC will be communicating this widely in the coming days as well, and likely will do so in next week's reminder.

And what do they consider a large purse?

Probably anything that falls outside of the size range, but I can't say for sure, unfortunately.

Do we have any way to ask questions about who qualifies as an infant so people can prepare? Should i just email my ticket rep?

Additionally, since we'll be subject to possible pat downs, what sort of training will people be receiving for gender-non conforming or trans folks?

I would hate for one of my friends to be denied entry because they felt "something".

Editorially speaking, an infant is a pre-toddling child. I think it's a great idea to get more specifics on that, cuz the ability to nearly walk doesn't have any bearing on the amount of gear parents need to haul around.

my kids will still be bringing their small backpacks. I hope they are ready for angry mom mode from my wife.. they each carry a change of clothes (because you never know with kids) scarf, snacks, wipes and lily's inhaler. I will have them hang them on their arms and call them a purse. Who are they to say what a purse is.

How will this work for people in wheelchairs? Also how will they handle Service Dogs? Mine has pouches on his harness and this is honestly rather rediculus. The minimum wage idiots they have had doing this the last couple years won't know how to do a pat down since they couldn't even wand people correctly.
