I live at 61°30 N, and Cold Bay is much further south at 55°12 N. So no.

You'd have to go to Anchorage and you'd be close to Tampere in terms of being north. Drive 20 miles north of town, and you are further north than Tampere.

We also have an ECS member who lived in Copenhagen, Denmark for a long while and posted a few pictures. Even Copenhagen is further north than Cold Bay.

Might be this one: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3913&p=301966#p301966

Locations in South Africa (there must be photos from the World Cup) and Australia (there are photos from Sidney for sure) get close, and some could even go further south (did somebody go to Melbourne?)

I saw those too. Solid! I plan on getting some shots from the top of Mt Christoffel in the south Caribbean next week.

Finn is correct, Cold Bay is much further south than Tampere. I was in Anchorage for two layovers, but didn't bother to take any pictures, much less drive 20 miles north for one. However, I believe that my photo is the first ECS picture from the Arctic (but only if you use the climatic definition, not the geographic one).

As for the southern most ECS picture:

Nice! Had forgotten about that one. Going further south would take some effort.

Finn,
I met some Finns in Donetsk and same guys in Keiv, the one showed me a black Finnish Supporters membership card on it with TPS or PTS? looked like a bigger one that supports hockey and football in same city. Thought you might know the city, which i forgot.

I was also in Capestown South Africa at WC with my ECS scarves, that is pretty far south :D I should get some kind of honorable mention

The city is Turku and the club is Turun palloseura or TPS for short. Disgusting club with idiot supporters in both football and hockey. The city is a topic of many a joke in Finland. Nobody likes them. And that's all totally unbiased of course.

finnfan (noun): a person from an imaginary land who is unable to communicate anything but unbiased scientific fact. Back off man, he's a scientist.

Ok, good to know. The fellas we ran into were not disgusting, but they were not like your die-hard club supporters. The one had been to the last 16 WC and Euro tourneys, so he's more of a general football fan. Some Ukrainians got them drunk on Vodka and his phone went missing (probably stolen), and then they wanted to take him to the cash ATM machine. Fortunately he opted out of that choice. I#m always fascinated by the varyious Euros peeps I meet, even if they come from an imaginary country

The Ukrainian incidents were actually very rare. Those that wanted to cause mischief gravitated to the packs of English in the pubs started up on the vodka then some things happened, usually verbal. but outside of that, 99% friendly that we all ran into. Funiest thing large strapping Ukrainians would come up to larger English or Irish and ask if they wanted to accept challenge to a fist fight. If you didn't the shook hands and moved on. Boxing is the National sport in Ukraine and the like the opportunity to swing with Irish or English that they here like to throw punches for fun. :D
