We got our first match. It's going to be cold, early in the morning and on a crap pitch. Come out EARLY to stretch as this is the season we lost 1/3 of our roster last year.

Not having played at Ingraham before, what kind of crap pitch are we talking here? First-generation worn-down fieldturf?

Field Turf probably from the 70's. PK spots either have bumps under them, or are ripped out. It's BAD.

If you can make it to the 1/2 practice, that'd be awesome too. Please RSVP in manager if you can attend the practice and/or the match.

Also a reminder about jerseys: I forget the Bandit's color, is it Black? So bring both kits for this game. ACTUALLY - bring both kits for every game. That's my reminder for the whole season.

They usually played in black. Then when we moved up to d3 they started wearing red.

Bad news, been up coughing and not got much sleep so far tonight. I if I try and get to the game on a few hours sleep and a lil cold I will be worthless. I'm going to skip the blue game, get some rest, and try and make it to the white game at 1pm. Give 'em hell!

Great way to start off the season team. 3-0!! Nice shutout Lukasz - going to miss you next week. Brilliant goals by Anthony(2) & Zach. Thanks to all the new players for stepping it up today - looking forward to playing with you this season.

Let's take the intensity we played with in the 2nd half all throughout this season and finish it on top! Take 'em All!

We took that lead, and didn't let up.

Their forwards were EXTREMELY frustrated with how we were stopping them. They tried to take Art down multiple times, and would take plenty of cheap shots at him. Anthony had 2 great goals, and Zach got a great assist on that goal by the wind.

I feel like I had a poor game with my kicking, but didn't have to do anything thanks to the defense. Use this to roll into the 2nd game. I will be missing out due to work. We are playing Mercer St., who we finished playing against twice last session.

One thing we need to improve, off the ball movement. A lot of times, you guys stand around waiting for someone to do something. You need to be constantly moving to get open. Forwards, I mentioned this to you guys at half, and you were doing good for the first part of the 2nd half, but then fell back into the same habits. You guys need to rotate with the ball. One needs to always be in the center of the field. Staying out wide does nothing for you, and hurts our outside mids. You have 2-3 guys between you and the ball, and you are keeping yourself from getting the ball. Get in front of the defenders.

As a forward I agree and I am still trying to learn to play the position as I go, so any on field or little side session talk helps. I will say that the forwards tend to get pushed wide when the wings tend to cut in to the same runs that the forwards are taking (drawing both their defenders and themselves). With zach and I drifting out we are trying to find some unoccupied space. We sometimes end up being a gaggle in the middle at the top of the box, but I get what you are saying. I will work on finding that spacing at the top and being more aggressive coming to the ball.

This was a great win....and an awesome start to the season. Continuing to communicate on field with each other when you get a second during a dead ball really goes a long way.
