Before you book airplane tickets, please join the ECS's group on Alaska Airlines. This is for any flight you would take on Alaska Airlines, not just for away match travel!

Follow these simple steps:
1.Register for Alaska Airlines frequent mileage plan if you have not.
2.PM iwantabossjersey your name and email address on your Alaska Airlines mileage plan
3.Buy tickets for ANY of your travel through EasyBiz (easybiz.alaskaair.com)
4.Earn your normal mileage plus bonus mileage for ECS!

More detailed info:

ECS has created a group that can use the "EasyBiz" program on Alaska and gain benefits for the ECS for every ticket that is bought by ECS members via the EasyBiz portal: easybiz.alaskaair.com .

Basically, what happens is that you MUST log in to Alaska's site via the EasyBiz page; easybiz.alaskaair.com then you buy your tickets just like normal. You still get the full mileage you would normally get for your frequent flier account, but each dollar you spend is credited towards a separate account for ECS.

When we get enough in our group's account we can use the credit for special programs... exactly what, we haven't decided yet, but it could be something like a free trip for an ECS member to an away game or something like that.

Anyway, it's easy to sign up; just send a PM to "iwantabossjersey" with your name and email address, and he'll add you to the ECS account. Then, if you're looking to fly somewhere, if you take an Alaska flight you just be sure to log in to the Alaska site via the EasyBiz page instead of the normal one and ECS will get credited for your purchases.

You should still sign up for the EasyBiz membership and do your shopping by logging into Alaska's web site via the easybiz.alaskaair.com web page. Also, you should shop for ALL your trips that way, as ECS gets credit for any trip you take via that page, so even if you're not going to a Sounders game, please at least shop the fares there and if you can, support our partner by using them.

Also, we are diligently working with Alaska to get a similar discount for this season's travel, as we have had in the past.

Edit... due to marketing reasons, they will not be able to extend a discount this year. They are already working to fix this so they can offer one next year.

Regardless, so far for most away matches, Alaska is the cheapest traditional carrier.

BTW, no huge drawbacks to this. Do it for all your flights!

You can't use if it you want to spend miles (miles only, or money and miles), and if you have other passengers saved in your account they won't be available through Easybiz, otherwise its the exact same.

What happens if we purchase tickets via one of the online travel agencies?

You then purchased through an online travel agency, which you should never do. Use them to search, then always buy direct through the airline, you usually get something by doing that. Maybe better seat selection, or different cancellation rules. There's usually some perk to buying direct. Also, if you search on Travelocity or something, and the same fare doesn't show up on an airline's website, most will match whatever the aggregator sells.

Also, if you're looking for packages, usually similar pricing can be found searching with Alaska vacations/delta vacations etc.

A couple considerations: Some of us are forced to buy tickets from online travel agencies for work travel, or you know, some of us work for said online travel agencies as one of the world's largest is based in Bellevue. I mean, I might even be sitting in their HQ now...

If you purchase through an online agency there is unfortunately not a way to attribute those miles to our Easy Biz account. The purchase must be made through the EasyBiz portal.
