So realized that there's no thread for them yet. Not one that I'm willing to increase the read/post count on, that is.

With a win by penalty kicks last night over Chivas El Paso, the Pumas advance to the second round of the US Open Cup. They face Real Colorado Foxes at home Tuesday, June 21st at 7pm local time. Hopefully their starting keeper Brian Meredith will be back off the bench.

In regular season, the Pumas remain undefeated, suffering only one tie at the hands of Portland Timbers U23. The next home match is this Friday at 7pm vs Abbotsford.

That penalty kick win was crazy... keeping up with the feed at thecup.us. 6-5 in 9 rounds!

If anyone is willing to make the trip, I can work some rides from the ferry dock to the stadium, with tasty beverages before or after as folks are willing. Please let me know with some semblance of lead-time so I can make plans. You could walk from the ferry dock to the stadium, but I wouldn't recommend it. Long hike, hills, and lousy neighborhoods.

So it looks like kickoff will be 7pm June 21. (http://twitter.com/#!/joshuamayers/status/80887765495054336)

What ferry from Seattle would we need to catch? 3pm or 4:20? 5:30 is pushing it too close unfortunately. And then we cannot catch the 9pm ferry home, have to wait until 11:40, which most of the buses in Seattle would be done after arrival. Don't know if I can swing it then.

Ferries:

Might think about driving.

My suggestion, catch the 4:20. Puts you in Bremerton 5:25ish. Gives me time to round people up, get a round in, and get to the stadium. We wouldn't need to be there more than ten minutes before kick-off. A sell-out/crowded stadium is not a problem yet. But yes, the return is a little close. Can't help you there. Your only other option is a carpool that parks at the Seattle side, I'd guess.

I'm on the 4:20 boat every day coming home from work. If you guys come over, I'll buy beers at the new bar by the Bremerton dock and then drive you to the match. Let me know.

It's a shame I don't still work over there, because even though I support the Seawolves, I'll support the Pumas' run for the USOC. I lived in Bremerton a lot longer than I've lived in Everett...

But in league play, you guys can suck it. :)

Oh, I forget something...I hate that I need to mention this, but we had an issue last year so apparently I do.

Leave your ECS gear at home for Pumas/Seawolves/Tide/Whatever matches. We as ECS exist to support the Sounders. When we discuss these matches on the boards, that does not mean these are official ECS gatherings or functions. This is just getting word out to other like-minded soccer fans. Don't care if you wear your adidas fan gear, everybody does. But I do not want anyone to even be able to suspect that ECS officially backs any other team but the Sounders.

I'm down for this, and will more than likely need a ride. Gonna be an awesome start to 8 days of soccer.
