^^ This. They should just do away with the east/west. The west has been better for a few years now IMO, and with those two coming over it will still be. Maybe split into 3 divisions? East/Central/West? Play a 30 game schedule: vs. your division opponents twice (home and away, 14 games) and one game against everyone else (rotating home/away each year, 16 games)

Yes, which doesn't bode well for the quality of the East. It's been weaker over the past few years in general, and this year seems to be no exception.

Who knows what OCSC, NYCFC, and FC Beckham United will bring to the table though?

They seem pretty set on a 34 match regular season for now, which also aligns perfectly with their proposed 24 team "stopping point". (Which is probably a temporary break until the realize they want more of that sweet sweet expansion money)

Intra-conference will be a normal home/away (22 matches), plus 1 match inter-conference for 34 total.

I have a feeling that's what they had in mind when they settled on 34 in the first place.

I would rather have MN as opposed to ATL or two in Florida.

Garber got too greedy. NYCFC, Atlanta, maybe Miami have implosion potential. Atlanta & Minnesota are agressive fuck-yous to the existing NASL teams in those cities. Also what's to become of Chivas USA could get laughable quick.

I think this years performance of the usmnt in the world cup will dictate a lot.....If we can pull of a small miracle and get bast the round of 16 I think the MLS could grab alot of attention. I think the MLS would almost see an attendance boost. I was never a big fan of soccer specific stadiums but I was totally proven wrong except in the case of the Sounders. DC needs a new stadium asap. A NE Rev move to Boston with an SSS would help them out. Sacramento and San Antonio are deserving of teams and I also think one would fair very well in STL. I think the main key will be getting class A players from europe in their prime is the key. Beckham worked great, its fun watching Keane, Villa is going to NYFC but people wanrt to see them in their prime.

Can't get players in their primes unless they are 29 and already won everything there is to win abroad. Villa has one more year as far as prime years go especially at MLS level. I would buy a ticket to see him play in a non-friendly game.

If Messi gets his World Cup I can see him leaving Europe at 30 if price is right.
