ScottishCelt-Sounder - to say the League Cup Final tifo was a shambles is a bit far, yes most fans threw the cards away early but we still have picture evidence of a great tifo.

A wee picture update, Its been a hectic few weeks being a celtic fan

The new season has just started and it began with a 1-0 win over Aberdeen!

Heres the Green Brigade youtube channel for those interested to look at some of the new videos

How do the UEFA tournament qualifications work in the SPL? Number one goes to Champions League and number 2 goes to Europa?

Celtic plays today the second leg of their Champions League third qualifying round match away against HJK Helsinki. Celtic won the home leg 2-1 after a less than stellar performance. The third round is where Celtic entered the qualifies. It hey win tonight, they do not yet go to the group stage, but have to still go through the play-off round, where they could face a much tougher opponent than HJK Helsinki.

Incidentally, HJK Helsinki is the club I hate the most of all clubs in the world, so I will definitely be hoping for a Celtic victory tonight. A blowout and utter embarrasement for HJK would be the best. They have high hopes for this match as they do have the away goal, so I hope those dreams will be crushed in a heartbreaking fashion.

---

Other Scottish teams in Europe are:
* second in league (Motherwell) goes to Champions League third qualifying round
* third in league (Dundee United) goes to Europa League third qualifying round
* fourth in league (St Johnstone) goes to Europa League second qualifying round
* cup winner (Hearts) goes to Europa League play-off round

I should add that by winning today, Celtic guarantees at least a spot in the Europa League group stage. That is where the losers from the Champions League play-off round go (and the winners of course go to Champions League group stage.)

This changes for the 2012-13 Scottish season as only the SPL champion this season will advance to the Champions League. Second, third and the Scottish Cup champion goes to the Europa League. This is too bad because the 2012-13 SPL season would have been so much more interesting if second place was a battle for a Champions League spot.
