is this the 1st time we've been without sigi? i feel like there was another time, but can't remember. either way it will be interesting to schmetzer does anything different.

Schmetzer filled in for Sigi in 2009 against Houston when Sigi's son got married. We won the match 2-1.

thanks, i felt like like it happened before.

Sigi said he'll likely join us for the March to the Match, even though he's not allowed in the stands.

I wouldn't expect anything to be different because Sigi is absent. They have worked together for four seasons, and seem to be working as a unit. And of course Sigi will be deciding on the starting lineup too. The only things that fall on Schmetzer are decision made during the mach, but even for substitutions they will of course make a plan before the match, like always. It's really only reacting to the unplanned that might be different due to Sigi's absence.

Cameras will not be showing Sigi with a cellphone giving instructions to Schmetzer. Is it common in American sports for coaches to be banned from stands while they are serving suspension?

He'll be in the stadium in a private area, just not allowed in the regular spectator areas. I think it is the same in many European leagues as well. It just does not come up often into discussion, because normally you would assume they'd want to be in a private box anyway.

Here's the source regarding Sigi joining us.

http://seattletimes.com/text/2019485079.html

Schmid had hoped to watch Sunday's game with the Emerald City Supporters in the south end of the stadium but was told that his suspension meant he couldn't be in the stands. Instead, he's expected to experience his first ever "March to the Match" before the game.

"I figured this might be a good occasion to be able to get out there and see how that is, because it always looks fantastic and exciting," Schmid said. "It's Fan Appreciation Day, it's our last regular-season home game, so from that standpoint, trying to get a positive out of the day."

I know that scum N & S will be playing during the march, but come out and show Sigi what this is all about. This is his first one. It'd be embarrassing to have everyone stay back and miss out on it.

Yes. Some leagues, suspended individuals are not even allowed into the stadium, or at the team's practice facility, while they are suspended.

If people would NOT pester Sigi it would be nice. But I can already tell people are going to be hounding his ass for shit. So in short I am in a pissy mood and will probably be pissy towards people pestering.

I know of a security team made up of grumpy bastards that could keep Sigi from being pestered. Just sayin.

Misread that as "sorority team". Thought "Man, now THATS some badass shit, right there!"

A security team is cool too.

I guess.
