If I make a flag does the ECS need to approve it's look to be allowed in to the supporter section?

As long is its nothing inappropriate its fair game, personal tifo is always accepted, and we do have poles but they are 16' and up

I am going to keep it small. In my opinion for what ever it is worth the smaller the flag the better. That way we can get more in

good on ya for taking initiative to make/bring a flag. More need to do this, both flags and two-sticks, and not just rely on ECS to spend $$$ and provide.

I bring in a flag my self and a quick reminder is if you are going to bring in a pole, the stadium rules are that it has to be 1/2 inch pvc pipe that is no longer than 3ft 6in however you can always bring multiple poles with an adapter to connect them together once you are in the stadium.

what you are doing is not only accepted, its STRONGLY encouraged!

I've had no issue getting Jackite poles (ones used by ECS) or Premier Kite poles (fiberglass and bigger) into the stadium.

They're just over 3' long when collapsed. The 32' pole ends up being a 2.5" diameter. They have even let in my 14' steel and plastic pole - and it only gets down to 4.5'. Then again, I've been walking in with 4' pvc since 2009.

Now, with that said, I'm wondering if my carbon fiber lust will do me in - 6' lengths may be a little harder of a sell.

Have they ever stopped you from bringing a pole in? If so, what did you do at that point?

Nope, haven't been stopped. If I was, I normally have said two-pole or flag out so they can see there isn't anything offensive...

King, thanks for joining the ranks of the flag bearers! My idea of "moderate size" is 10'6 x 10'6 (mine was 11x11 to start); if you want to start small, maybe 5'x7' would work?

I always carry in my BFF with a Prism Kites 18' 6-section pole. I always have the flag in the top of an open small backpack, the pole out of its sleeve. I present the pole at an angle to show it's hollow and say "all hollow plastic" to the bag-checker. I go in the SW gate, near one end or the other to make it easiest for the supervisor to approach. A third of the time they will call the supervisor who will say I'm supposed to already have that in the stadium, and I apologize for my lateness. Once last year they stopped me; one of the ECS Security guys vouched for me (thanks Manuch!) and after a short delay (less than 5 min) the BFF pole was ok'd.

I'd ask our tifo crew to take over this flag's in&out handling, as CLink would prefer, but I keep convincing myself I'm going to get there in time for MTTM. When I do bring it in on MTTM, the bag-check folks see it coming, I break it down for bag-check, and they wave it right in.
