Desert Diamond Cup - Match Commentary

I figured that a pre-season tournament doesn't necessitate a thread for each match, so I'm starting this one for commentary on the Sounders in the Desert Diamond Cup.

Our first match kicks off in about 20 minutes or so, vs. the Revolution.

Evans just scored on a PK. Didn't see the foul that caused the call (same reason as you). Might have been Gonsalves taking down EJ in the box.

Overall, I think we look pretty decent, but I'm not really the best person to judge that. Lots of quick transitions on the offensive side. We seem to be happy to try to stretch the game with lots of long balls, taking advantage of the speed of EJ and Zak.

Traore looks pretty good at CB. We look a little toothless, but that's always true in preseason. Midfield looks great.

This match seems far more lively than the one against the timbers. Honeybadger is apparently a little too lively?

Pre-season "red card" for Alonso. Earned a second yellow for a late 2 footed tackle on Tierney. Rather than getting the second yellow, they forced a substitution and Rose came on.

My feed locked up in the middle of a hard tackle by Traore at the edge of the box. (twitter feed says it caused a yellow)

EJ scores the 2-0 goal just before the half.

Ours locked up too. Good to know it wasn't more serious in the box (I was concerned when the feed stopped just there!).
