The first half, we looked horrendous. A stupid mistake on their players part gave him a 2nd yellow and gave us a big advantage. I don't think we would have scored playing 11 v 11.

Zak was an absolute embarassment in the first half. 2nd half, he improved. His lack of defense needs to get resolved. Either we have him play forward, or Sigi needs to chew his ass out. I just can't justify him starting.

Gspurning is the only reason we weren't down 3-0 at half. Some absolute great reaction saves.

Yedlin had two great shots. His best shot was saved by Ochoa. But, beautiful goal on the first shot. Still needs to learn to control the ball a little better, and put in better crosses. They seem to come in real low, and whenever he'd cut inside during the first half, it seemed like he would have a heavy touch and lose the ball very easy. The goal we gave up, hopefully teaches him to expect to hold his ground a little better. Very good game from him though.

Djimi Traore scored his first career goal in club play. Ever. To score like that. Ridiculous. Add to it that he was a very solid rock defensively, and was able to do well in leading hitting the forwards when just sending the ball forward. A player of his caliber will work great when we need to do the kick and chase.

EJ played his ass off. Moved off the ball at all times, and did a majority of the work up front. His goal took some fucking huge balls to take that shot.

I was happy with Ochoa. He did what he had to, win the ball in the air, and try to get it to EJ or someone else.

Ozzie had another great game.

Gonzo made one real big mistake in the 2nd half when he misjudged a bouncing ball, but other then that was very solid.

Good analysis there. I think the changes to the second half cannot be solely explained by the red card. A one man advantage is not that big in football. That said, I don't think we would have scored three without it.

Good win but not so sure if the outcome would have been the same had Tigres played their first team. Also, the red card definitely helped us out.
We just need to step up our game as we move onto to the semis...Santos or Houston is going to take us seriously ..and not send their B team.

I'm glad someone else noticed just how bad he was. He just had no appetite to put the work in last night, whether on offense or defense. He picked it up a little bit the last 15-20 mins he was on, but otherwise you wouldn't have noticed him without his ridiculous hair and bright lime boots.
