I have to get The Kid up to LaConnor in the morning, so I'm guessing the tifo will be a nogo for me, but I plan on making it down to Starfire in the afternoon.

Make sure there's campaigning for Sounders for MLS at the game and in/around Starfire!

FT Sounders 4-0 Gonzaga. Good match. The starters (including former Sounder Brent Whitfield, and trialists Watson & Conti) looked good, especially Whitfield & Conti. The mostly trialist second half side, with LeToux, Sakuda, Schmid, and Hugo, looked even better. At times, LeToux, and Hugo, looked like they were toying with the 'zags backline, especially Hugo in setting up LeToux's second goal, and his play into the box that set up LeToux's first. Eylander, and Drago, were not really tested by the 'zags. All in all, a good workman like preseason effort by the lads.

I couldn't make the match, so give me some help here if you can. The Sounders match report lists three players by lastt name only: Kante (Ron had Conti?), Lopez (well, that narrows it down to a few million soccer players), and Lewandowski.

Did Lewandowski look like this guy?

He played against USA in the recent friendly.

Can anybody identify Kante or Lopez?

Kante is Youssouf Kante (very impressive). Lopez was not on the roster, so can't help you with which Lopez of the world he might be, and this Lewandowski's first name is Jonathan.

Kante (I was spelling phonetically) looks like a young CT, but at right 'back. Good wheels, had some very good crosses, in the first half, one to Taylor that was spot on for a perfect header, but right at the 'keeper. I think Lopez was wearing #12. Played center mid, seems like a good player, didn't make any really great, or terrible plays, that stand out. Lewandowski was probably one of the three trialists that were on the backline, with Kevin, in the second half, but I don't know which one. The regulars (I include Brent in this group) all looked pretty good. Of the trialists, Kante, and Mendoza impressed me the most. Kante's speed up the wing, on overlaps, will be a huge advantage late in matches, and Jesus has excellent touch on his passes, even in traffic. If he signs, it'll be an interesting battle for PT between him and (probably) Gardner, and O'Brien. And if they sign Whitfield, he'll be our supersub, able to spell both strikers, plus all of the midfield, other than left wing. I think that if we can sign both of them, we'll be even deeper than we were last season.

Thinking back (and after looking at the pics) I'm not sure that #11 was Mendoza.
Jesus looked a little shorter than the #11 we saw on Saturday.

Maybe that was Lopez?

According to the Sounders match report, Mendoza was not on the pitch. So it may have been Lopez. Sure would llike a first name for Lopez.
