timbers away travel bus from bham

what is the likely hood or ability to get an away bus that leaves from mt vernon or bellingham for timbers away? dont mind paying extra to make happen!

If you're referring to an ECS Travel Monkey chartered bus, unofficially, there's a zero chance of it happening. There isn't adequate demand to justify it. Hell, there's barely enough demand to warrant a bus stopping in Bellingham on the way to Vancouver away. I think right now we only have 2 Bellingham riders for the May 24th away trip to YVR.

I think at least part of that has to do with the fact that we're so close to Vancouver already, it's almost pointless to take the bus at the same cost as Seattle riders for such a short jaunt.

With that in mind, I think you'd find a higher demand going in the other direction (Pdx) since it's more like a 5-6hr drive.

The YVR bux tickets are the same as cost as Seattle riders because the buses originate from Seattle. So ECS is paying for the same cost regardless of the shorter distance of Bellingham riders to YVR. We used to offer a price break for Bellingham riders. But that was when we were taking 6, or 7 or more buses on an away trip. With that greater number of tickets sold we were able to absorb the cost of the pricing concession in the overall budget for the away trip. But when we're struggling to fill 3 buses we're unable to continue that discounted rate.

As for Bellingham to PDX... I speculate that Bellingham riders would face significantly higher bus costs because of the probable bus staging out of Seattle and the additional ~2 hours required for each leg of the trip. Plus, as hinted above, overall bus interest has dropped considerably in the past couple of years. So the notion of there being ~50 Bellingham riders interested, willing, and able to pay that higher cost, and justify a bus seems very farfetched in my imagination. But I'd love to be proved wrong here.

I think we may be relegated to carpooling...it'd be nice even to have something set up for home matches. Between gas and parking it's close to $60 before you even have a ticket to go to a home match, never mind a PDX away.

And Hooch I think you're exactly right about the discounted Bham pricing...I just think that's probably the reason we don't see Bham riders as much.
