Away Trip - CD Olimpia (CCL) - 8/26/15

Travel with ECS to see SSFC play outside of Seattle.

Unread postby cowgoesmootwice » Mon Jun 29, 2015 11:28:47 pm

The Group Stage Dates were announced earlier today. We play in Tegucigalpa, Honduras on 8/26 vs CD Olimpia a week after hosting them at RBP.

Is anyone else considering going to this?

Currently in the preliminary stages of seeing if I can make this work out & hoping it will!

Am sure there will be a few folks who will join in on this one, but Travel Monkeys are not formally organizing at this point.

I will organize with SSFC, CONCACAF and CD Olimpia to get a group ticket buy and develop a security plan for all Sounders supporters attending the match.

We arrive on 8/21, depart 8/27. Are you on Facebook? There's a group of us discussing the trip there, if you want to join.

There's a group of us staying here for the 5 days before, we've got room for a few more people if anyone is on the verge.

Hello All,

I'm new to the forum, but not to Honduras. I'm a Seattlite who has lived in San Pedro Sula for 4 years and am going back for another year in a few days. Some of you may remember when the Sounders matched up against Marathon a few years ago in Conca Champions. You know I was at that game! Flash forward to now and I am full fledged memeber of Marathon's barra, La Furia Verde (The Green Fury). If there is anything that unites soccer fans in Honduras, it is rooting against Olimpia, or as we like to refer to them in Honduras, Los Chucos (We don't like to say there name at all).

All this being said, I am wondering if there would be a way that ECS could raise some funds so we could get Furia Verde down there to cheer on the Sounders. I would say roughly a 1000 bucks would get 50 or so guys down there, in the stadium and back. To cheer against Olimpia, I'm pretty darn sure we could get at least 50 guys from La Furia.

I hope to hear from someone about this one way or the other. Also, if any of you are coming through San Pedro Sula, hit me up and let's grab a beer!

We're going to support the Sounders, not cheer against Olimpia. Hiring other supporters is something Chicago does.

That being said, anyone that is rooting on our boys will be fully welcomed and probably high fived many times by myself.

Quick check in on anyone not in the large ECS group that's heading down tonight and tomorrow, we'd love to know if you're going to be there and make sure we all connect and get seated together. Feel free to message me privately or post here. SeattleCalcio, iwantabossjersey, llarian and a bunch of others are all headed down.
