ECS MONKEY MAIL COLORADO AWAY APRIL 23, 2016

Hello Away Travelers!!
Welcome to the third away match of the 2016 Sounders season. Our boys have been getting better lately and hopefully we can keep it going this weekend. You are part of a group of 180+ traveling supporters. Here is everything you and your new best friends need to know for this match day:

Tickets:
Your COLORADO Away Ticket(s) to stand with the Emerald City Supporters for the match on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 7:00 PM MST at Dick’s Sporting Goods (DSGP) Park in Commerce City, Colorado are attached to this email! Print your ticket(s), bring them with you, and keep it with you for the entirety of the match.

Parking:
Park in the northeast corner of Lot BB. Parking is free of charge. (Welcome to the land of cheap real estate!) ECS is planning to start arriving around 4:00 PM. Lot BB is best accessed via the Quebec St. and Prairie Parkway (64th Avenue) entrance. This entrance is NW of the complex. See attached parking map for specific details.

No Host Tailgate:
There will be a no host tailgate before the match in the northeast corner of Lot BB starting at 4:00 PM. Away travelers are welcome and encouraged to hang out and meet their fellow supporters. Please note that Colorado is at a higher altitude. Drinking alcohol and supporting at altitude can and will take a toll on you. Make sure you hydrate with a lot of water. In fact, feel free to start now. We are here to support our boys and we don’t want anything to take away from your ability to do so. We will pack up at 5:45 PM and March at 6:00 PM to Gate A.

Stadium Entry:
ECS will enter DSGP through Gate A, which is dedicated for away supporters, at 6:15 PM. Expect any bags you are carrying will be checked by security. MLS has just released new elevated security policies at all stadiums. The new policy will be in effect at this match.

Upon entry to stadiums the league will now subject all fans to full screening via “full pat down or with the use of search wand of magnometers.” We have been instructed that both methods will be used at DSGP.

The new bag policy will prevent fans from bringing in large purses, coolers, computer and camera bags, briefcases, backpacks and luggage. Your bag size is limited to 14x14x6.

Only those holding Visiting Supporter Tickets will be allowed to enter with us. Everyone else will have to go through a different gate.

Gametime Expectations:
Emerald City Supporters is a supporter group. That's important to remember. Our reason for being at the match is to spur our boys on toward victory; everything else is secondary.
• Our section will be in Section 100. Our section will be treated as General Admission; we do not enforce seat assignments tifo, capos, the drum, and security will be in front few rows. Everyone else is invited to stand where they feel most comfortable. Due to the large numbers in our group we will also have a topo (top capo) to help our capo and assist in leading our songs.
• Participation is encouraged. We'll have song cards so you can sing, chant, and go mental right along with us. Don't worry if you don't know all the words, just follow along the best you can and your support will be felt!
• There may be times where you can't see as well as you might like due to flags and tifo. We like to wave flags. Even during the run of play sometimes. We feel like it's an important part of showing the boys our support. If a flag is in your way, and you don't like it - please feel free to change seats. That's part of why we do GA, so you're not stuck in an uncomfortable spot.
• Friends or family in other MLS team gear or colors will not be allowed to stand with us. If you or someone in your group is wearing colors of another MLS team, they will be asked to remove those items. If they refuse, we will try to have your group reseated. If the stadium staff cannot accommodate a reseating, then your group will be asked to leave.
• Please, do not engage in any way with home fans. Security will keep them at bay; there's no need to engage in any wordplay, taunting, threats, etc. If you have an issue, notify ECS Security, Travel Monkey, or stadium staff.

Postgame:
We will held in the section for a minimum of 10 minutes.  Security will escort the group back to Lot BB. If you choose not to stay with the group, you assume the risks of your own security.

Itinerary Recap:
As always, make SURE you check with the travel monkey on the ground for the latest schedule/details.

We seem to have a tendency of Rapids away being scheduled sometime on/around April 20th. So FYI If you're considering this trip: 420 Eve @ Red Rocks w/ Method Man & Redman.

Booked my flight for this one. In on Alaska 682 Friday 22nd departing at 3:10, arrives DEN at 6:38. Leave Sunday at 11:00a on Alaska 679. Most likely staying on friend's couch downtown (most of you know who...) I'd imagine the 1-up will happen Friday night!

Had so much fun on this trip last year, I'll be coming again. Already booked my flight and everything. For those sports lovers out there, the Rockies play the Dodgers that Friday night, I think I'll be heading to that.

If not, see you guys Saturday. I'll be the one in the Sounders gear drinking.

Also, any idea when tickets will be available. Obviously we have several months, but I like to be planned.

Thinking about this trip. Alaska has great deals RT fly in 4/23 AM and return Sun or Monday for $165.90. Don't forget to use our discount code.

Here is an example itinerary.

Good job. I was able to get a refund of $59 back from Alaska because the price of our itinerary went down last week. Still finding flights as of now on Alaska for $165 RT with ECS Discount.

I was able to get a block of 10 rooms at the Denver Marriott City Center, located at 1701 California Street, Denver CO 80202 for $143 + tax a night. Split that between 4 people and you are looking at $40 a night per person. There is a block of 10 for Fri 4/22 & Sat 4/23. Reservations must be made before Monday 3/28/16 and through the URL I receive. I will post the URL on Monday when I get it. If you try to book after 3/28 and or not through the URL you will not receive the discounted group rate.

I personally am staying Sat/Sun but will get in for the Saturday discounted rate. Also if you have Marriott Rewards you can be attributed rewards individually upon your reservation.

It may be a little early for this, but I will be staying downtown Denver (in town for business on Friday) and will need a ride from downtown to the stadium and vice-versa. If you aren't downtown but are somewhere between downtown and the stadium, I'm happy to Uber to you. Please let me know if you can help.
