Hello Away Travelers!

Welcome to the first Sounders away of the MLS regular season!! You are one of 53 or so amazing individuals who will be supporting on our boys this Saturday from Rio Tinto Stadium. BEAUTIFUL Sandy, Utah awaits us!

Tickets:
Your Real Salt Lake vs Seattle Sounders ticket(s), on Saturday March 12, 2PM Mountain time, to stand with the Emerald City Supporters are attached to this email! Print them and bring them with you. RSL does not honor electronic ticketing. You must print your ticket, bring it with you and keep it on you at all times.

Stadium:
Rio Tinto Stadium
9256 State Street
Sandy, UT 84070

Parking:
Parking is being graciously provided to the traveling contingent by Sandy Station Nightclub and Event Center!! They are located at:
8925 S Harrison Street
Sandy, UT 84070
www.sandystation.com
We will be escorted into the stadium from here by event staff, and local police. Sandy Station iteslf is 21+. If you are U-21, please be in their lot to march in with us, no later than 12:30.

If for some reason you desire to pay to park at the stadium, roughly one block down the street, visiting supporters can park in the North lot (Ardell Brown). This costs $10.
Note: DO NOT park your car at the neighboring hotel (unless you are staying there). It will be towed at your own expense. Sandy Station has plenty of space, and has accomodated our group fine in the past.

Pre-Func:
Sandy Station
www.sandystation.com
8925 S Harrison Street
Sandy, UT 84070
Note: Sandy Station is 21+. If you are in the U-21s, please be in their parking lot no later than 12:30 to prepare for the march to the match.

Pre-func starts at 10:00 am. We will be leaving Sandy Station at 12:45 p.m. and will be escorted down the street and arround the corner to the NE visiting supporter's entrance of Rio Tinto Stadium.  At 1:00 p.m. tifo and flag inspection, as we walk into the stadium as a group.

Gametime (Important Information):
Emerald City Supporters is a supporters group. That's important to remember. Our reason for being at the match is to spur our boys on toward victory; everything else is secondary.
• Our section is always treated as General Admission, we do not enforce seat assignments. Tifo, capos, the drum, and security will be in the front few rows. Everyone is invited to stand where they feel most comfortable.
• Keep your scarf tied AT ALL TIMES, inside and outside of the stadium.
• Participation is encouraged. We encourage those who know our songs to help lead others. Song Cards can be downloaded ahead of time from our site: https://www.weareecs.com/multimedia/songs Don't worry if you don't kn ow all the words, just follow along the best you can and your support will be felt!
• There may be times where you can't see as well as you might like due to flags and tifo. We like to wave flags. Even during the run of play sometimes. We feel like it's an important part of showing the boys our support, and they are going to need every ounce of strength. If a flag is in your way, and you don't like it - please feel free to change seats. That's part of why we do GA, so you're not stuck in an uncomfortable spot.
• Do not engage in any way with home fans. Security will keep them at bay; there's no need to engage in any wordplay, taunting, threats, etc. If you have an issue, notify ECS travel monkey or stadium staff.
• We understand that for many this may be a vacation in which you meet up with friends and family in the area, and that's great! They are more than welcome to stand with us, as long as they do not display the colors and gear of the home team. Our section is the away section, and stadium security may mistake your friend or family member for an instigator, and no one wants that.

FRIENDS OR FAMILY IN OTHER MLS TEAM GEAR OR COLORS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAND WITH US. Section 233 and 234 of Rio Tinto stadium are designated for supporters of Seattle Sounders FC. This match has big implications, and it is very, very important to those who have traveled to be here. Passions will be running high. If you or someone in your group is wearing colors of another M LS team, they will be asked to remove those it ems. If they refuse, we will try to have your group reseated. If stadium staff cannot accommodate a reseating, then your group will be asked to leave.

AGAIN, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO REMAIN IN OUR SECTION, AND WE DON’T CARE HOW IT WORKS IN OTHER AMERICAN SPORTS. WE NEGOTIATED THIS GROUP RATE, WE ORGANIZED THIS TRIP, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE FOR ANY REASON. -yes, we’re pretty serious about this.

Postgame:
The MLS established procedure for those holding away supporter tickets is to remain in our section for up to 20 minutes while the home fans are cleared from the concourses. When the match ends, we ask that you scoot to the interior of our section as to avoid any contact with home fans. We remain until stadium security gives us the instruction to leave, and then we all leave together. If you choose not to stay with the group, you assume the risks of your own security. We will be escorted back to Sandy Station at this time by stadium security and local PD.

Eternal Blue Forever Green,
ECS Travel Monkey

Hiba and I are likely flying down for this one and driving back up to move the rest of her stuff. We think currently, that it will just be trunk space. So if someone is interested in riding back with us. We can probably arrange that.

Thanks for organizing this iwantabossjersey!

I'm driving down with my main squeeze early on the 11th and back up after we crush Fake Salt Lake.

Is anyone else bringing flags/poles? I have a cargo carrier that will fit pole sections under 90". If anyone wants me to haul equipment I'd be glad to help. (https://www.thule.com/en-us/us/products ... -_-1680020)
I will not be hauling extra human passengers.

I took a look at Rio Tinto Stadium rules and didn't find anything specific about 3.5' PVC poles with 3x5' flags except the standard "Any other items deemed to be inappropriate or dangerous by the Event Manager". Can anyone give me a solid answer on this, or should I write them?

The travel monkeys and tifo will have a call with their FO shortly before the trip to get info on what is/isn't allowed. Wait for that.

Generally we get standard supporter exemptions from RSL, minus use of a megaphone is the only thing they're hard up on. We're in relatively good standing with RSL, so I don't imagine at this point that there will be anything we normally aren't allowed to bring in, banned. IE Flags, big and small, drum... just no megaphone still. boo... Will keep updating as time goes on. Anything that is brought from Seattle will be organized through our matchday ops.

So it appears I might get to attend this one, as I need to fly to BNA the next day anyway! Will be my first time for RSL away.
