Via Monkey Mail:

Portland pre-func:
Our designated pre-func location in Portland for our match-only purchasers is at Goose Hollow Inn at 1927 SW Jefferson St, Portland, OR 97201; they are Sounder-supporter-friendly.
Note that many other nearby bars are Timbers-supporter-only and will refuse access to opposing fans. The march from Goose Hollow Inn will be coordinated by AnR 48’s.

Jolly Roger is the spot that A&R 48's use for away viewings. I was there for our playoff game against FC Dallas last season. Amiable enough for Sounders fans.

Tickets were sent via email yesterday. Monkey mail below
ECS MONKEY MAIL | PORTLAND AWAY | AUGUST 28 2016

Hello Away Traveler,

Thank you for purchasing your PORTLAND AWAY ticket(s) through the Emerald City Supporters. Here is everything you need to know to support to your fullest:

Tickets:
Your PORTLAND AWAY tickets for Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Providence Park in Portland, OR, are attached to this email. Print your ticket(s), bring them with you, and keep them on your person for the entirety of the match. Providence Park does not accommodate reading this ticket from your mobile phone, so go find a Kinko’s.

Bus Riders:
PRINT YOUR TICKETS AND BRING THEM WITH YOU. Bus riders will not receive paper tickets like they have in previous years. We only have two buses, so it does not matter whether you selected Tacoma or Tukwila – both buses will stop at both locations.

If you selected Tukwila as your pickup location:
Be at the Tukwila International Blvd Light Rail Station Park & Ride (15426 35th Ave S, Tukwila, WA) near International Blvd & SR 518 NO LATER than 07:45. The buses will leave promptly at 8:00 and they WILL leave without you.
If you selected Tacoma as your pickup location:
Be at the pickup location SR512/I5 Park and Ride (address: 10617 S. Tacoma Way, Tacoma) NO LATER than 8:30. The buses will leave promptly at 8:45 and they WILL leave without you.
The buses will NOT be making a food stop. You might get hungry. Bring food to eat. Bring drinks too. NO GLASS ALLOWED. We will make a stop at Gee Creek Rest Area for restrooms and to store booze under the bus. No booze is allowed on buses after the rest stop.
Match-Only Purchasers:
PRINT YOUR TICKETS AND BRING THEM WITH YOU.

Parking:
There is no visiting supporters designated parking. Many nearby lots fill up quickly. We recommend wherever you park to avoid walking along SW Morrison St (N edge of the stadium) and SW 18th Ave (E edge of the stadium).

Stadium Arrival (Bus Riders & Match-Only Purchasers):
Buses are scheduled to arrive at Providence Park at 12:00 and will be unloading along SW 20th Ave. See the attached map. AT NO TIME IS ANYONE PERMITTED TO LEAVE THE BUS/TICKET/ENTRANCE AREA. We don't want anyone getting separated from the group and winding up in trouble.
Per MLS rules, all away fans must enter as a group – this means if you drove yourself you will need to meet the buses to enter as a group. LEAVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME TO PARK AND MEET THE BUS.
MATCH-ONLY PURCHASERS NEED TO MEET THE BUSES BETWEEN 11:45 AND 12:00.
We are entering at Gate 5.
Tifo:
All tifo, including personal flags and two-poles must be present for entry and inspection at 12:00. Providence Park may prevent entry of any other tifo after that time.

Water/Outside Beverages:
Providence Park will allow SEALED water bottles as well as UNSEALED EMPTY bottles.

Entering the Stadium:
ECS Security and Tifo crew will go in first.

After they enter, we will all pass through security together and enter the stadium. Note that Providence Park now employs walk-through detectors. In previous years, they had a bag and no-bag line, this year there will be two lines with no distinction.

Fans who are visibly intoxicated may be denied entry by Providence Park. Don’t be that supporter.

ECS will be only in section 223 for this match. THIS IS A CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS VISITS. All seats are to be treated as GA.

ROWS 1 & 2 WILL BE ROPED OFF BY PROVIDENCE PARK. ROWS 3 & 4 ARE FOR CAPOS AND TIFO CREW ONLY. THIS WILL BE ENFORCED BY PROVIDENCE PARK.

FRIENDS OR FAMILY IN OTHER MLS TEAM GEAR OR COLORS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAND WITH US. Section 223 at Providence Park is designated for fans and supporters of Seattle Sounders FC. If you or someone in your group is wearing colors of another MLS team, they will be asked to remove those items. If they refuse, we will try to have your group reseated. If stadium staff cannot accommodate a reseating, then your group will be asked to leave.

AGAIN, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO REMAIN IN OUR SECTION, AND WE DON’T CARE HOW IT WORKS IN OTHER AMERICAN SPORTS. WE NEGOTIATED THIS GROUP RATE, WE ORGANIZED THIS TRIP, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE FOR ANY REASON. -yes, we’re pretty serious about this.

Gametime (Important Information):
Emerald City Supporters is a supporters group. That's important to remember. Our reason for being at the match is to spur our boys to victory; everything else is secondary.

• Our section will be treated as General Admission; we do not enforce seat assignments. Tifo, capos, and security will be in rows 3 and 4 of 223; rows 1 and 2 will be blocked off. Everyone else is invited to stand where they feel most comfortable.

• Don't drink so much that you get sloppy and give anything less than your best. YOUR BEST IS EXPECTED. You should work to exceed that.

• Do not engage in any way with home fans. Security will keep them at bay; there's no need to engage in any wordplay, taunting, threats, etc. If you have an issue, notify ECS security or stadium staff.

• You should expect that you will be under surveillance at all times while at Providence Park and conduct yourselves accordingly. BEHAVE AS THOUGH YOU ARE BEING WATCHED, BECAUSE YOU ARE.

Postgame:
Standard procedure for all MLS matches is to hold the visiting supporters in the section for up to 30 minutes in order to give the home fans time to clear the concourse. We will then be escorted by stadium security and local police out of our section and will proceed back out of Gate 5.

Get back on the bus (the same bus you rode up in, please) and we'll head home. ETA in Tacoma is 19:00 or so. Tukwila will be a bit later. Even travel monkeys have to respect the time space continuum.

Up the Sounders! Up the ECS!

But, if it comes down to it...I'll probably buy tickets in a different section. How likely will we be able to make our way to the ECS section?

I have two bus/match tickets I can't use because my buddy is stuck in Calgary. I would post on the ticket exchange but doesn't seem to be much action on there.

ECS Ticket Exchange on Facebook is probably the most "active" place to buy/sell tickets these days. There have been a few people looking for PDX away.

For those driving, make sure you're aware of lane closures! Lots more details here. Your bus drivers are all aware!

I'd be interested in the bus/match tickets. I have ticket only and would be looking to exchange.

I just called the goose Hollow (pre funk bar), and the guy on the phone said they would be opening up at 11 o'clock this Sunday. That only gives us like 45 minutes to drink if we have to meet up with the buses at noon.

I think the Jolly Roger in SE is friendly; it opens at 9. Two stop pre funk!

With that said, will anyone have an extra scarf? My family lives in Portland so I went down early to see them and I totally spaced my scarf when grabbing a few changes of clothing. :-/

Jolly Roger is friendly to sounders fans but likely none of the normal anchor and rose members will be there (we're going to the game).

I don't recall the exit but FYI MAX has like this outage for construction so they say to add 30-45 minutes to your trip length.

What a match! One of the greatest I've been too, besides the bullshit where our section was cut in half it was still a good match none the less! Once again even though we lost that's not taking any bit of my passion for the Sounders, also I got to hold the cascadia cup for the first time Image hopefully I can make it down to Vancouver away!
