I'm really hoping for some downtime in KC, after two weeks of non-stop action. I'm kinda hoping for an afternoon with a pool and a lounge chair.

Has anyone gone to SideKicks or Buddies on Main street?

I've not been to either, and I have no knowledge of Sidekicks. But Buddies, if it's the place I'm thinking of, has been on Main Street for as long as I can remember. No clue about the neighborhood's current state (e.g. gentrification, urban revitalization, etc.). But at least going to back the 90s it was a seedier/depressed part of town. So I'd imagine Buddies is something of a dive. But that's pure speculation on my part.

Got myself +2 booked! Looking at P&L district Saturday night, match Sunday, and Angels vs. Royals on Monday night for the long weekend. First visit to KC for all 3 of us - all we know we're supposed to do is to find BBQ at some point!

In what part if town are you staying? I'll point you in the direction of BBQ greatness.

Downtown, just a few blocks from P&L district. We figured uber/lyft is going to be slightly cheaper than renting a car, gas, parking at hotel, etc. so hopefully there's a good place close by or even walking distance. One of us is vegetarian too - does KC have some vegetarian-friendly BBQ places?

Almost everywhere has a veggie option, and there are a few places close by. Jack Stack is in the Freight House near Union Station, and that is one of the "nationally known" BBQ hotspots. If you go a couple miles south to Westport, you can get to Char Bar or Q39, my two favorite places. If you want the original KC BBQ, and the place whereObama stops when he is in town, there's Gates on Main St., but I don't think they have veggie choices. Pro tip: most pit beans have meat/drippings in them.

We're a mere 14 days away from our takeover of the Spork Drawer!

For those that will be in KC the night before (7/23), we will be having a get together at Char Bar in town! Some of the HH admins will be there at 7:15-7:30pm (Central Time) for BBQ, drinks (Adult ones and non-adult ones), friendship, and grazing of the plains, as we Buffalo do in the Midwest.

(This is a restaurant/family friendly place for those wondering for the lil ones if needed)

Char Bar info: 4050 Pennsylvania Ave. #150 Kansas City MO 64111
http://charbarkc.com/#/charbar

For those yet to buy your ticket, you have TOMORROW (YES TOMORROW) at 10am Seattle time for ordering your ECS direct ticket. Here's the link: https://www.weareecs.com/s…/product/941-kc-away-july-24-2016

We hope to see new and old folks and faces. Feel free to message myself, T.R., Jeff, Michael, or any other HH admin with any questions or concerns.

60-70 through ECS, usually pick up a few more that end up in the section.
