Monkey Edit:
ECS MONKEY MAIL NEW ENGLAND AWAY MAY 28, 2016

Hello Away Travelers!!

Welcome to our first East Coast away match of the 2016 Sounders season. Our boys have been getting better lately and we are hopeful this will be the match that they break out with their first away win. They will need to know we are there and hear your voices! You are part of a group of 74+ traveling supporters. Even if you have been on this away trip before please read all of the details below as there are new parking locations, entry and security measures you need to be aware of. Here is everything you and your new best friends need to know for this match day:

Tickets:
Your NEW ENGLAND Away Ticket(s) to stand with the Emerald City Supporters for the match on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 7:30 PM EST at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts are attached to this email! Print your ticket(s), bring them with you, and keep it with you for the entirety of the match.

Parking:
Park in the Lot 19. (See attached parking map for specific details) Parking is free of charge. Parking will open at 5:30 PM. Print the parking pass- (also attached to this email) you will need to display it on your car windshield to gain access and be able to park in Lot 19.

PreFunc:
The Red Rooster
510 Washington St
Wrentham, MA 02093

Join us at the Red Rooster from 4:00-5:15 p.m. to meet up with your fellow traveling supporters and local Sounders supporters.

No Host Tailgate:
There will be a no host tailgate before the match Lot 19 starting at 5:30 PM. Away travelers are welcome and encouraged to hang out and meet their fellow supporters. We will pack up at 6:00 PM and March at 6:15 PM to the Bank of America entrance escorted by security. Due to new security protocols we will no longer have our own gate entrance but our timing should allow us to enter prior to majority of opposing fans.

Stadium Entry (6:30 PM):
ECS will enter Gillette through the Bank of America Gate at 6:30 PM. Expect any bags you are carrying will be checked by security. Speaking of bags. You will not be allowed to enter the stadium with any bag, including camera bags, backpacks purses, etc. Basically if you need to bring something with you the only bags allowed are clear gallon ziploc bags (or a clear bag no large than 12”x6”x12). If you feel you need to bring something other than your ticket bring a Ziploc bag. It will also be searched. We will also be going through metal detectors. The only exception to NE bag policy is that ladies are allowed to bring a clutch purse (but it must not be larger than the size of your hand 5”x8”.) They are pretty serious about this. Please make sure you are prepared.

Once our group has gained entry to the stadium we will be escorted to our section by security anticipating arrival by 7:00 PM.

Gametime Expectations:

Emerald City Supporters is a supporter group. That's important to remember. Our reason for being at the match is to spur our boys on toward victory; everything else is secondary.

• Our section will be the upper portion of Section 116. Our section will be treated as General Admission; we do not enforce seat assignments tifo, capos, the drum, will be in front few rows. Everyone else is invited to stand where they feel most comfortable. We will be going old school as New England does not allow the majority of supporter items. We will have a drum and our voices.
• Participation is encouraged. We'll have song cards so you can sing, chant, and go mental right along with us. Don't worry if you don't know all the words, just follow along the best you can and your support will be felt!
• Friends or family in other MLS team gear or colors will not be allowed to stand with us. If you or someone in your group is wearing colors of another MLS team, they will be asked to remove those items. If they refuse, we will try to have your group reseated. If the stadium staff cannot accommodate a reseating, then your group will be asked to leave.
• Please, do not engage in any way with home fans. Security will keep them at bay; there's no need to engage in any wordplay, taunting, threats, etc. If you have an issue, notify your Travel Monkey,or stadium staff.

Postgame:
We will held in the section for a minimum of 10-20 minutes. Security will then escort the group back to Lot 19. If you choose not to stay with the group, you assume the risks of your own security.

I'm booked for this one, then headed to DC for the Wednesday game. Probably taking the train between Boston and DC. Now I just have to decide how long to stay in Boston.

If airfares stay relatively decent, I'm going to make this one. Going to need a quick trip to get my sanity back from an incredibly busy May at work. Won't require taking any time off of work.... Can't do the double though, for said reasons though :(.

Looking forward to hosting all of you in our fair city of Boston & at the tailgate. If anyone needs a ride to the game from Boston please let me know as I'll have 3-4 extra seats in my car - there is no train or public transit to the stadium. Uber/taxi will set you back some $$$ unless you get a rental car.

We have a facebook group page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BostonSSE/ - you may also want to post there for ride sharing, and we'll update with additional match day info as it gets closer.

We typically meet up at a bar down the street from the stadium then head over for a tailgate in our assigned lot. If you have any questions regarding the city, things to do & see, etc. feel free to drop me a line.

Cheers,
Jack in Boston

I transfered to kittery maine (hour or so from Gillette) this past summer. So this is likely my only rave green experience in person for the year. Absolutely excited.

I am doing the double! I fly into BOS on Friday. Three nights at hotel/hostel then fly to DC on Monday. Three nights in hotel and fly back to SEA on Thursday. The flight to DC as cheaper and shorter than both Megabus and Amtrack st $75.

Anyone want to share a room in either BOS or DC?

I live in Portlan (Maine, duh, the REAL Portland). If you ever want to meet up somewhere to watch a match at a bar or something, let me know. I'm coming to the NE game, along with my wife and two boys. You'll probably be able to spot us if you want to come up and say hi.

Suzi, might be interested in sharing. I've gotta convince Jerry to go though!

What time is this all likely to start up (both the bar meetup and the tailgate)?

I have regular Saturday plans prior to the game but I'd really like to make it out to the tailgate this time if things allow.

What is the best way to get from downtown Boston to the match?
Rental Car?
Zip Car?
Stowaway Sounder team bus?
