Away Trip - Orlando 8/7/16

Travel with ECS to see SSFC play outside of Seattle.

Unread postby McTrixie » Sun Jan 31, 2016 9:24:38 am

Hello! Orlando in August, this should be fun! If you're willing to sweat your buns and other body parts off, we're excited to have you join us. The Travel Monkeys are hard at work organizing this trip. We've got a designated away section and tickets lined up which will go on sale about 6 weeks prior to the match. Orlando is keepin' it real with prices and the Soccer For All mentality so you won't be taking out a mortgage or selling all of your banana trees for this one.

There will not be an official ECS hotel so feel free to get yourself set up near your favorite Orlando destination (this particular monkey will be cozying up to Universal Studios and Harry Potter).

Hope to see you there!

Butters -

There is always an away supporters section. Some times (normally not cascadia) there is some kind of tailgate a stadium parking lot. Info I am sure will come soon.

I heard last year Vancouver had issues there. Drunk people etc... But I heard they didn't have a set section for away support no security, rovers or escorts. The only away I game I have done is DC two years back and we had a specific section. Not a big deal I just want to know if they have a new policy so I can plan accordingly.

There were no issues at Vancouver or any away trip last year or the year prior. Feel free to PM if you have any Qs :)

Tailgate/pre-func for this match is still TBD

I believe they are stating that when Vancouver traveled to Orlando, they had issues.

Yeah thats what it was. I guess Orlandos front office wouldn't sell them tickets all in one section so people bought them individually and were spread across the stadium. http://lastwordonsports.com/2015/03/22/ ... upporters/ found this article, one of my buddies I'm stationed with told me this so Im not sure how factual any of this is.

One thing you'll notice, ECS is EXTREMELY organized when it comes to away travel. Even in such hostile territory as San Jose, we rarely have anything even close to a problem, as there is much planning and preparation that goes into these trips. I have heard a lot of these stories from last year with VAN, and to me, a lot of seems to be from a lack of preparation and communication between clubs and SGs. That, and Orlando being asshats in general...

We have a section in SJ, sounds like there was no away section on Orlando for VAN away last season. Let's hope that is sorted out.

Vancouver has one guy who runs all of their away travel (nice guy too!), we have 11.

We operate at scale.

Plan on traveling down from Jacksonville here as well. Already have seen one OCSC loss in person in 2016, looking forward to seeing another one.
