Western Conference Finals 2nd leg 11/27/16 at 2pm MST

{Monkey Edit}

ECS MONKEY MAIL (CORRECTED) COLORADO AWAY WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS NOVEMBER 27, 2016

This corrected email is being sent to all travelers to update the times listed on the prior monkey mail sent to you. The match time and other times are correct in this email.

Hello Away Travelers!

Welcome to the away leg of the Western Conference Finals! We’re not finished yet. “Sunday we march, sing, scream, laugh and (hopefully) happy cry [and dance]. It all comes down to this. Every voice at 11, every flag up, every two pole held, every one of you clapping and pogoing. Sunday, we redefine the word mental. Sunday’s our day.” fellow supporter, CK. You are part of our largest traveling contingent yet to Colorado. We need every one of you to give your full support to our boys as they are playing for the chance to advance to the MLS Cup Final. In the words of our captain, Honey Badger: “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. It’s time to do it.” Let’s do everything we can together so the boys hear and feel our support on the pitch!

Here is everything you and your new best friends need to know for this match day:

Tickets:
Your COLORADO Away Ticket(s) to stand with the Emerald City Supporters for the match on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 2:00 PM MST at Dick’s Sporting Goods (DSGP) Park in Commerce City, Colorado are not attached to this email! You will need to pick up your ticket(s) at the tailgate between 11:00-1:00 PM. Bring your name under which you purchased your ticket and find the travel monkey on the ground and we will hand you your physical ticket.

Parking:
Park in Lot BB. Parking is free of charge. (Welcome to the land of cheap real estate!) ECS is planning to start arriving between 10:00-11:00 AM. Lot BB is best accessed via the Quebec St. and Prairie Parkway (64th Avenue) entrance. This entrance is NW of the complex. See attached parking map for specific details.

Tailgate:
There will be a tailgate before the match in Lot BB food should be available starting at 11:00 AM. Pizza will be provided by the Sounders. BYOBooze. Colorado is another state with different liquor laws so plan ahead.

Away travelers are welcome and encouraged to hang out and meet their fellow supporters. Please note that Colorado is at a higher altitude. Drinking alcohol and supporting at altitude can and will take a toll on you. Make sure you hydrate with a lot of water. You don’t want to be that person who couldn’t give every ounce of themselves to support in this high stakes match. We are here to support our boys and we don’t want anything to take away from your ability to do so. We will pack up the tailgate at 12:45 PM and March at 1:00 PM to Gate A.

Tifo:
The following supporter group exemptions were approved:
• Drum including mallets
• Signs/banners which do not obstruct stadium signage
• Single flag poles 6’ tall and made out of ½” PVC pipe
• Two-pole/two-stick flags 6’ tall and made out of ½” PVC pipe
• Single flag poles 10’ tall and made out of ½” PVC pipe
• Megaphone to coordinate chants and songs
Please note Single BFF expandable flag poles 16’ or 20’ and made out of fiberglass are not approved.
Stadium Entry:
ECS will enter DSGP through Gate A, which is dedicated for away supporters, at 1:15 PM. All tifo items must enter through at Gate A at the time our group enters the stadium. Tifo crew will enter first.

Expect any bags you are carrying will be checked by security. Expect “full pat down or with the use of search wand of magnometers.” We have been instructed that both methods will be used at DSGP.
Your bag size should be close to 14x14x6.

Only those holding Visiting Supporter Tickets will be allowed to enter with us. Everyone else will have to enter through a different gate.

Gametime Expectations:
Emerald City Supporters is a supporter group. That's important to remember. Our reason for being at the match is to spur our boys on toward victory; everything else is secondary.
• Our section will be all of Section 100, including the bleachers above section 100 on the concourse. Our section will be treated as General Admission; we do not enforce seat assignments tifo, capos, the drum, and security will be in front few rows. Everyone else is invited to stand where they feel most comfortable.
• Participation is encouraged. We'll have song cards so you can sing, chant, and go mental right along with us. Don't worry if you don't know all the words, just follow along the best you can and your support will be felt!
• There may be times where you can't see as well as you might like due to flags and tifo. We like to wave flags. Even during the run of play sometimes. We feel like it's an important part of showing the boys our support. If a flag is in your way, and you don't like it - please feel free to change seats. That's part of why we do GA, so you're not stuck in an uncomfortable spot.
• Friends or family in other MLS team gear or colors will not be allowed to stand with us. If you or someone in your group is wearing colors of another MLS team, they will be asked to remove those items. If they refuse, we will try to have your group reseated. If the stadium staff cannot accommodate a reseating, then your group will be asked to leave.
• Please, do not engage in any way with home fans, this is a very important match and tensions on both sides may be high. Security will keep them at bay; there's no need to engage in any wordplay, taunting, threats, etc. If you have an issue, notify ECS Security, Travel Monkey, or stadium staff.

Postgame:
We will either be held in our section until our boys have a chance to address our section or we will be held to celebrate and watch the Western Conference trophy presentation. Yes, there is a trophy. Regardless, we will all leave together and stay together as we are escorted by security back to the Lot BB.

Itinerary Recap:
As always, make SURE you check with the travel monkey on the ground for the latest schedule/details.

10-11 AM Start Tailgate in Lot BB
12:45 PM Pack up tailgate
1:00 PM March to Gate A

{Monkey Edit}

Tickets are on sale now in the ECS store.
Go back to old school discuss your plans in this thread if you are looking to find hotel roommate(s), find others with a similar itinerary, share rental car costs, etc. Information on hotel group rate is posted in the thread below.

Discuss your flight arrangements find those with similar itineraries or if you are looking to share the cost of a roadtrip with others. From my experience in April you can take public transportation a train from the airport to downtown. But getting to the stadium we used uber and it wasn't that expensive & then hitched a ride back to our hotel with others. Uber can also get around to different areas of downtown.

We have 500 tickets alloted for this match.. Lets make this our largest away contingent yet and sounder together.

There will be a tailgate available at the game, much like there was for the game here in April.

We're in, but getting in just before the match Sunday morning, so we'll miss any tailgating.

I booked Fri evening out, back Tues afternoon. Prices seemed to drop from Sunday nigh late, to today? was strange, I got lucky on Frontier out and back $235.

There are good deals if you are willing back 6 am, those good priced Monday returns are almost all gone, from what I've seen

So, the game starts at 2 Denver time (I think)...for folks that have been there before, any thoughts on a safe departure time if I want to try and fly out on Sunday night after the match?

Quick question =). Hoping to make my first away game and take my two nephews (13yrs and 16yrs). I've been trying to become a member of ECS online and every link to join that I try doesn't work. Anyone have a link that works to join up? Thanks so much! Go Sounders!!!!
