Hello Away Traveler!

Thank you for purchasing your Chicago Away ticket(s) through the Emerald City Supporters. Your Travel Monkeys for this weekend will be Chris Urquhart (@CasuallyUltra) and Michael Hadley (@SSFCSnorlax).

Whether this is your first away trip, or you're a veteran of the road trip grind, here are a few things we'd like you to know for the weekend:

Tickets:

Your ticket(s) for the match on Saturday, May 13th, 2017 are attached to this email. Please be sure to print them and bring them to the match, if you forget there is not much we can do to help you!

Pregame:

A) We will be tailgating starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Visitor’s Parking Lot in the Southeast corner of the complex. Parking is $20.00 (CASH ONLY) and you can enter through gate S2 (ha!) starting at 5:00 p.m. Please let the parking attendant know you are looking for the Visitor Tailgate, and they will point you in the right direction. We will instruct you where to park once you're in the right area.

Any food and drink you'd like during the tailgate is up to you to bring, so please plan accordingly.

-----

B) If you have a bus ticket, we will be meeting at Trophy Room (170 W Ontario Street in Chicago) at 1:00 p.m. Around 4:45 p.m. tabs will start to be paid, and the bus will be leaving at 5:00 p.m. to meet up with the tailgaters at the stadium. (Note: If you do not have a bus ticket but want to go to Trophy Room anyway, you are more than welcome to drive yourself over to the stadium.)

Trophy Room has 22 drafts and plenty of Chicago-based brews, in addition to cocktails and grub.

March to the Match:

ECS Travel Monkeys will meet stadium security at 6:30 p.m. to get tifo et all inspected, and we will walk in Gate F together at 7:00 p.m., taking a short walk to Section 134!

Game Time (Important Information):

Emerald City Supporters is a supporters group. That's important to remember. Our reason for being at the match is to spur our boys on toward victory, everything else is secondary.

• Our section is always treated as General Admission, we do not enforce seat assignments. Tifo, capos, the drum, and security will be in the front few rows (15-17). Everyone is invited to stand where they feel most comfortable from Row 18 to the top of Section 134.
• Participation is encouraged. If you don’t know the songs, don’t worry! We will pass out song cards so you can sing, chant, and go mental. Don't worry if you don't know all the words, just follow along the best you can and your support will be felt!
• There may be times where you can't see as well as you might like due to flags and tifo. We like to wave flags. Even during the run of play. We feel like it's an important part of showing the boys our support, and they are going to need every ounce of strength. If a flag is in your way, and you don't like it, please feel free to change seats. That's part of why we do GA, so you're not stuck in an uncomfortable spot.
• Do not engage in any way with home fans. Security will keep them at bay; there's no need to engage in any wordplay, taunting, threats, etc. If you have an issue, notify ECS security or stadium staff.
• We understand that for many this may be a vacation in which you meet up with friends and family in the area, and that's great! They are more than welcome to stand with us, as long as they do not display the colors and gear of the home team. Our section is the away section, and stadium security may mistake your friend or family member for an instigator, and no one wants that.

Postgame:

The MLS established procedure for those holding away supporter tickets is to remain in our section for at least 15 minutes while the home fans are cleared from the concourses. We remain until stadium security gives us the instruction to leave, and then we all leave together. If you choose not to stay with the group, you assume the risks of your own security.

Complete Itinerary:

If you have a bus ticket...

1:00-4:45 p.m. – Enjoy drinks and each other at Trophy Room.

5:00-6:00 p.m. – Bus leaves and take us over to Toyota Park to meet up with the tailgaters.

-----

If you are tailgating...

5:00 p.m. – Arrive at the BOYB tailgate. Enjoy some delicious drinks. Drink responsibly; there is work to be done tonight!

6:30 p.m. – Final call for all flags, banners, and other tifo. Start cleaning up tailgate area.

7:00 p.m. – (Short) MARCH TO THE MATCH! We will enter together through Gate F and walk up the stairs to Section 134.

8:00 p.m. – Go Mental!

10:00 p.m. – Celebrate the win with your fellow supporters and salute the team. Wait 15-20 minutes for the stadium to clear prior to heading back to your car. Security will escort our group all the way to Lot F.

All night long: Celebrate some more! Locations of post-game get togethers are TBD.

-----

Thanks again for choosing to travel with us! For additional information please refer to the Chicago Away Travel Page, or reach out to Chris or Michael on Twitter.

Be Safe. Sing Loud. Bring Home Three Points.

Mariah and I just booked flights. First away match in Chicago. Does everyone usually rent a car or deal with the crazy public transit to Bridgeview?

Danyeal and I booked as well! In the past, the travel monkeys have rented a bus from downtown and I hope they do that again!

It's being discussed thoroughly at corporate monkey headquarters.

I just moved out to Chicago and would def buy a match ticket and a bus ticket from downtown. Taking the CTA out to Toyota park looks like quite the hike.

My husband and I are making the trip to Chicago as well. This will be our second away game. I read somewhere that they are trying to do a bus to and from the game. I hope to see you all there

Very excited. How many people are doing the two-fer of Chicago and KC in the same road trip?

My wife and I are going to take the bus to the Sounders on Saturday night and Hamilton on Sunday!

The Hamilton tickets are a little costlier, but slightly less expensive than my season tix. :)

We heard your requests and yes there is a bus from a downtown location. Tickets are now on sale in the ECS store. Make sure you use the drop down menu & select bus + match option if you intend to take the bus.

In for this of course, hopefully the game is better than our last Chicago visit.

I am in for this. Will have my son who has been to a few games with me. And my girlfriend will be coming to her first soccer match. She is still trying to understand the mentality of the supporters. Think she will be in for a shock because I know many of you bleed SSFC even more than I do.
Can't wait for this game.
