Seattle Sounders FC at Houston Dynamo
BBVA Compass Stadium, Houston, TX
Time 4:00 PM, October 21st, 2018

Ticket Deadline was September 10, 2017

Monkey Edit: ECS MONKEY MAIL HOUSTON AWAY OCTOBER 21, 2018

Hello Away Travelers!!

Welcome to one of our last matches of the season! You are one of the few lucky supporters who will be trudging down to Houston and I can't think of a better time to go to Texas! It's not 132 degrees in the middle of August! Bring your voices, bring your spirit our boys will need every ounce you have as we will be going up against a “sold out" stadium of 12,172 or so and the boys need to hear us!

Tickets:

Your HOUSTON Away Ticket(s) to stand with the Emerald City Supporters for the match on Sunday October 21, 2018 at 4:00 PM Central at BBBBBBBBVA Compass Stadium (BBVA Compass Stadium: 2200 Texas AVE, Houston), are attached to this email! Print your ticket(s), bring them with you, and keep it with you for the entirety of the match. No tickets will not be able to be scanned from your phone- so print your tickets.

Prefunc:
We will be prefuncing from noonish-2:00ish PM at:

The Flying Saucer
705 Main Street
Houston, TX 77002

We will pay our tabs by 2:00-2:10pm and then walk as a group from the Flying Saucer to the train Central Station Rusk. Your gameday ticket can be used for the train and will need to be shown so keep it handy and no need to purchase a separate train ticket. We will be getting off the train at the Eado/Stadium station stop and meeting with security at 2:30pm. Security will then escort our group to the South East gate. (See attached map).

Parking:

Parking around the stadium or downtown near the prefunc is mostly paid private lots. If you are not joining us at the prefunc, we have been asked to park at the Walker & Emancipation St lot and to avoid the areas boxed in red on the 1st attached map. This is lot nearest to the entrance into the stadium we are using. See page 2 of the attached map for other options for parking in the area the light blue sections. Security will be meeting us here, so even if you decide to park elsewhere I am told most lots start at $25 cash. Please be very aware of your surroundings in getting to the South East Gate. We had 3 incidents of people being targeted by Dynamo fans in our last visit, especially those who were alone.

Stadium Entry (2:30PM SHARP):

Train riders and those choosing to park near the stadium will enter BBVA at the South East Gate. See the orange star on the map (it looks yellow to me). We will be wrist banded at gate entry. YOU MUST BE HERE AT THIS TIME TO GAIN ACCESS TO OUR SECTION. TIFO must be presented at the front and will be inspected at this time. We will be going through metal detectors and/or pat downs. Then escorting us to our section. The plan is that we will all be inside PRIOR to the main gates opening at about 3:00PM.

BAG POLICY: BBVA at this point is not using the clear bag policy that CLink is on. However, they are on the no large bags size limit 14x14x6 that we were a bit ago. Only small clutches, etc. For any questions, review information on the Dynamo's webpage.

TIFO: BBVA has a very strict policy on personal banners/flags and poles. You may bring a flag or banner that is no larger than 4ft by 8ft, but you can’t use a pole for it. If stadium security deems it inappropriate it will not be allowed to enter. We will be bringing 10 flags with poles from Seattle so if you want to waive a flag you will be able to. For banners or what we call 2 poles we were allotted only to be able to bring 8, with the poles to go with them. We will not have extra poles and we will be bringing only the ones approved ahead of time by the stadium. But if you would like to hold a 2 pole please let the Monkey or your Capos know. We were able to get approved for a drum that we will be bringing with us. We will not have the use of a megaphone. We will have capos to lead our group. FOLLOW YOUR CAPO who will lead us in our songs and chants.

WATER: You are allowed to bring an up to 30 oz clear empty plastic water in to the stadium and water filling stations are located inside the stadium.

Gametime Expectations:

Emerald City Supporters is a supporter group. That's important to remember. Our reason for being at the match is to spur our boys on toward victory; everything else is secondary.

•Our section will be a portion of Section 230, Rows S and T. The team tickets will be seated a couple rows in front of us (we are not here to bother them- we are here to show our boys support). Our section will be treated as General Admission; we do not enforce seating assignments. Tifo, capos, the drum, will be in the first rows. Everyone else is invited to stand where they feel most comfortable.

•Participation is encouraged. We will have song cards so you can sing, chant, and go mental right along with us. Don't worry if you don't know all the words, just follow along the best you can and your support will be felt!

•FRIENDS OR FAMILY IN OTHER MLS TEAM GEAR OR COLORS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAND WITH US. IF YOU OR SOMEONE IN YOUR GROUP IS WEARING COLORS OF ANOTHER MLS TEAM, THEY WILL BE ASKED TO REMOVE THOSE ITEMS (this includes any Houston gear!!!). If they refuse, then your group will be asked to leave. There could also be the possibility of no option to be reseated. We have arranged for this group purchase for SOUNDERS SUPPORTERS. It is our right to refuse entry within our group. Yes, we take this very seriously.

•Please, do not engage in any way with home fans. Security will keep them at bay; there's no need to engage in any wordplay, taunting, threats, etc. If you have an issue, notify your Travel Monkey, Capo or stadium staff.

Please note you may not stand or jump on seats. We were asked to tell you this could lead to ejection or arrest. Apparently, BBVA takes this seriously.

Postgame:

We will be held in the section for a minimum of 15-30 minutes. Security will then escort the group back to the train station. Yes, we know you want to get home, guess what we all do. Your safety is very important to us. In a few of our last visits to Houston we had multiple incidents of individuals being targeted when alone. Please be patient and wait during the security hold so we can all safely exit the stadium.

I have two free tickets to this match. Also if someone needs a place for the night before...I'm staying at the Marriott near the stadium. Getting thier late,(10pm?) from Orlando, but plan.on slamming some brews that night. Hit me up, if you need a free ticket, and a place to catch some Z's.

so... there's not a lot of activity for the Houston away trip. is there actually going to be an away section? or are we sitting wherever? I'll be getting to my hotel around 12:30 PM Sunday and then going to the game from there.

I'll celebrating after the game, around the Marriot, then heading back to Orlando, to pick up the family...since they decided to stay here in Orlando. Orlando FC must suck, but the weather, hotels, and beer are great out here...till the next Hurricane.

Yes there is an away section. There has probably not been a lot of activity because many are doing the double with Orlando Away match tonight as well.

Tickets and details will be sent with Monkey Mail expected to ship on Thursday or Friday of this week.

Hi Mavic, I could use a free ticket, and I'd be happy to buy you an expensive stadium beer in return. Looks like I missed out on the ECS distribution.

Can't go to Houston as I hoped so my ticket is available for free. Just give me your email and I'll send it. Would appreciate a game time selfie in return.
