Hell Yes, why would I want to spend $ on renting a car when I can get anywhere I need to in Chicago by public transit, except Bridgeview.

No. I am driving from Heartland Horde Country straight to Bridgeview, why would I need a bus?

For those of you intending to take this trip...would you prefer a bus from a downtown Chicago location to Bridgeview or no bus option? Bridgeview is where the Chicago Fire play and its about 1 hr outside of downtown Chicago. If we do not provide a bus you will be on your own for transportation out to the stadium and back.

We are trying to access the need for a bus. The match start time locally is 12:00 pm. If we were to do a bus, it would likely need to be an 8:00 am departure from a downtown Chicago location. There would not be prefuncing in downtown. Instead the plan would be for a prefunc tailgate in the parking lot at the stadium from about 9-11am. This is also dependent upon our required time we must enter the stadium. So the time frame could be pushed back as well.

We are looking for responses for those that would be interested in the bus option to see if it something we should be providing so that people can get to Bridgeview.

Time is of the essence as we are trying to get this away trip posted as soon as possible we are looking for feedback no later than 1/29/19. We will then access the responses and make a decision.

Please use the poll above to register your vote.

2/4/19 Update: Based on responses to poll and the timing of this match we will not be providing a bus from downtown Chicago for this trip. We encourage you to use the forums here to seek out and find carpool buddies.

Hello Away Traveler!

It’s that time of the year! Away Day number one is finally here. You are a part of the 101 bad asses who are ready to back our boys to victory. Whether this is your first away trip, or you're a veteran of the road trip grind we need you to support to your fullest and “Let’s Go. Let’s get off to the best start the Seattle Sounders have ever had,” wise words from our steward. The goal is 10, lets make game 3 our first away win! Coach also said, “There are baby steps along the way, but yes, my ultimate goal would be to host MLS Cup Here…Without a doubt. It would be fucking awesome. It would be lights out.” So do your part for 90+ minutes so we can work toward making Coach’s goal a reality.

Your Travel Monkeys for this weekend will be Andy Hegeman (@andy_2991) and Shannon Bradshaw (@shanders143).

Here are a few things we'd like you to know for matchday:

Tickets:
Your ticket(s) for the match on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 vs Chicago Fire are attached to this email. Please be sure to print them and bring them to the match, or you can bring them up on your phone, but make sure your phone is fully charged! We are not responsible for your cellphone charge so if that is a concern- print it.

Stadium:
Seat Geek Stadium
7000 South Harlem Ave
Bridgeview, IL 60455

Pregame Prefunc No Host Tailgate:
9:30 a.m. We will be tailgating starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Visitor’s Parking Lot S2 in the Southeast corner of the complex. Parking is $20.00 cash or card and you can enter through gate S2 (ha!) starting at 9:00 a.m. (See attached map S2 parking and enter via 71st Street.) Please let the parking attendant know you are looking for the Visitor Supporters Tailgate, and they will point you in the right direction. We will instruct you where to park once you're in the right area. Any food and drink you'd like during the tailgate is up to you to bring, so please plan accordingly.

Something to note if you are planning on using rideshare services to get to Bridgeview- please check out on twitter @streetsblogchi as due to the green river and St Patty Day celebrations a large portion of downtown will be blocked off from getting a rideshare service from or to there. (Also see attached maps for location of drop off and pickup spots)

We are obligated to tell you there is a new Fan Code of Conduct its in the attached pdf for your reference.

Tifo Inspection and March to the Match:
11:00 a.m.- Per MLS rules our group must enter together. That means that all of our traveling group and all y’all you who bought tickets with us needs to have arrived and parked by this time.
11:15 a.m.- Tifo items will be inspected and then the entire group will do a short March to the Match escorted by security. We will enter Gate A1 and head up to our Section 203! We have all of section 203, please leave first few rows for drum and capos.

Game Time (Important Information):
Emerald City Supporters is a supporters group. That's important to remember. Our reason for being at the match is to spur our boys on toward victory, everything else is secondary.

• Our section is always treated as General Admission, we do not enforce seat assignments. Tifo, capos, the drum, and security will be in the front few rows, everyone else is invited to stand where they feel most comfortable. • Participation is encouraged. If you don’t know the songs, don’t worry! We will pass out song cards so you can sing, chant, and go mental. Don't worry if you don't know all the words, just follow along the best you can and your support will be felt! • There may be times where you can't see as well as you might like due to flags and tifo. We like to wave flags. Even during the run of play. We feel like it's an important part of showing the boys our support, and they are going to need every ounce of strength. If a flag is in your way, and you don't like it, please feel free to change seats. That's part of why we do GA, so you're not stuck in an uncomfortable spot. • Do not engage in any way with home fans. Security will keep them at bay; there's no need to engage in any wordplay, taunting, threats, etc. If you have an issue, notify ECS security or stadium staff. • We understand that for many this may be a vacation in which you meet up with friends and family in the area, and that's great! They are more than welcome to stand with us, as long as they do not display the colors and gear of the home team. Our section is the away section, and stadium security may mistake your friend or family member for an instigator, and no one wants that.

Postgame:
The MLS established procedure for those holding away supporter tickets is to remain in our section for at least 20 minutes while the home fans are cleared from the concourses. We remain until stadium security gives us the instruction to leave, and then we all leave together. If you choose not to stay with the group, you assume the risks of your own security.

Complete Itinerary:
8:00 a.m.- Wake up find pants, contemplate why MLS thinks a noon match is a good idea.
8:30 a.m.- Start to head to Bridgeview yes it takes that long to get to the Burbs!
9:30 a.m. -Arrive at the BOYB tailgate. Enjoy some delicious drinks. Drink responsibly; there is work to be done later!
11:00 a.m- Be parked and at tailgate area.
11:15 a.m. – Final call for all flags, banners, and other tifo.
11:30 a.m.–(Short) MARCH TO THE MATCH! We will enter together through Gate A1 and walk to Section 203.
12:00 p.m. – Go Mental!
1:50 p.m.ish – Celebrate the win with your fellow supporters and salute the team during security hold!
2:10 p.m.ish- After 20 minute security hold we will all head back to our tailgate lot escorted by security.
All night long: Celebrate some more! Locations of post-game get togethers are TBD.

Bridgeview pre func May be easier, especially with an “earlier” KO.

I’ll have drum, see KC & MN Notes.

I’ve never done the bus with everyone before, so I would be stoked to do that with you guys! I’m open to whatever you guys want to do. I do know there are multiple hotels about 3 miles away from SeatGeek, so the tailgate would be cool, too. I’m just excited to get back with you guys again and go mental.

I want to avoid downtown Chicago on St. Pat's, so will either fly in on Sunday morning super early or would want to stay out by the stadium. 80 percent chance of attending.

You could fly into Chicago ...the stadium is about 15-20 mins from the airport. Fly in on Fri, stay in Bridgeview....fly back out after the game. I plan on being there.

Are ECS tickets available to non-ECS members? I live in Chicago and plan on going to the game. I can also drive 3 people from downtown to Bridgeview and back, and I don't drink so I'm a good designated driver!

Hi all!

Does anyone have space in a carpool for one more driving from Chicago?

Also, is there a Sounders bar/meet up in the city showing the opener on Saturday? Thanks in advance!

It is not currently possible right now. Grab another ticket from Chicago Fire and it should be fine for you to just join us at the tailgate and enter with us. Chicago Fire does not sell out so in this particular instance this is fine, the majority of other stadiums this would not be possible.

Thanks - I got a ticket in another section and will wander on over. I called the Fire and that's what they (unofficially) suggested as well, actually.
