ECS MONKEY MAIL HOUSTON AWAY MARCH 14, 2020

Hello Away Travelers!

Welcome back to the Heartland! You are one of the few lucky supporters to come hang out with me and support our boys to 3 points! Bring your voices, bring your spirit and lets will them to their first road points of the season! Let’s make sure after 90 minutes everyone in that stadium knows THIS LAND WAS MADE TO BLEED RAVE GREEN!

Your Travel Monkey for this weekend will be Andy Hegeman (@andy_2991)

In light of the current COVID-19 outbreak we are proceeding forward as this match is being held per our discussions with Houston Dynamo. In an abundance of caution we are creating a contingency plan in case something changes after you receive this monkey mail. Please reply to this email with your name and cell phone number where you can be reached in the event something changes between now and match time. This will allow us to contact you right away to advise if something does change. We will discard the information you provide to us after the match.

Here are a few things he’d like you to know for match day:

Tickets:

Your HOUSTON Away Ticket(s) to stand with the Emerald City Supporters for the match on Saturday March 14, 2020 at 7:30 PM Central at BBVA Compass Stadium (BBVA Compass Stadium: 2200 Texas AVE, Houston), will be available to be picked up at the Flying Saucer with a photo ID. Once you’ve picked up your tickets, bring them with you, and keep it with you for the entirety of the match. No tickets will be reprinted.

Prefunc:

We will be prefuncing from 3-5:30ish PM at:

The Flying Saucer
705 Main Street
Houston, TX 77002

We will pay our tabs by 5:15-5:25pm and then walk as a group from the Flying Saucer to the train Central Station Rusk. Your gameday ticket can be used for the train and will need to be shown so keep it handy and no need to purchase a separate train ticket. We will be getting off the train at the Eado Stadium Station stop and meeting with security at 6:00pm. Security will then escort our group to the Goya gate (at the intersection of Walker and Emancipation).

Parking:

Parking around the stadium or downtown near the prefunc is mostly paid private lots and the prices normally start at $25 cash. We have been told that downtown will be very business because of St. Patrick Day weekend so please give yourself some time to park so that you are not the one who is running late!

Stadium Entry

Once we meet up at the Eado/Stadium light rail station, security will escort us to the Goya Gate at 6:00.TIFO must be presented at the front and will be inspected at this time. We will be going through metal detectors and/or pat downs. Then escorting us to our section. The plan is that we will all be inside the stadium and in our section at 6:15PM.

BAG POLICY: BBVA at this point is not using the clear bag policy that CLink is on. However, no bags larger than 14x14x6.

TIFO: We were pre-approved approximately 8 flags with poles so if you want to waive a flag you will be able to. We will not have extra poles and we will be bringing only the ones approved ahead of time by the stadium. If you would like to hold a 2 pole or waive a flag please let the Monkey or your Capo know. We were able to get a drum approved. YAY!

WATER: You are allowed to bring an up to 32 oz clear empty plastic water in to the stadium and water filling stations are located inside the stadium.

Gametime Expectations:

Emerald City Supporters is a supporter group. That's important to remember. Our reason for being at the match is to spur our boys on toward victory; everything else is secondary.

•Our section will be in section 231, Row T. Our section will be treated as General Admission; we do not enforce seating assignments. Capos and the drum, will be in the row in front . Everyone else is invited to stand in Row T. So get to know your neighbors because we only have 1 row!

•Participation is encouraged. We will have song cards so you can sing, chant, and go mental right along with us. Don't worry if you don't know all the words, just follow along the best you can and your support will be felt!

•Friends or Family in other MLS team Gear or colors will not be allowed to stand with us! If you or someone in your group is wearing another MLS Teams gear, they will be asked to remove those items (this includes any Houston Gear!) If they refuse, then the group will be asked to leave. There could also be the possibility of no option to be reseated. We have arranged for this group purchase for SOUNDERS SUPPORTERS. It is our right to refuse entry within our group. Yes, we take this very seriously.

•Please, do not engage in any way with home fans. Security will keep them at bay; there's no need for any wordplay, taunting, threats, etc. If you have an issue, notify your Travel Monkey, Capo or stadium staff.

Please note you may not stand or jump on seats. We were asked to tell you this could lead to ejection or arrest. Apparently, BBVA takes this seriously.

Postgame:

We will be held in the section for a minimum of 15 minutes. Security will then escort the group back to the train station. Yes, we know you want to get home, guess what we all do. Your safety is very important to us. In a few of our last visits to Houston we had multiple incidents of individuals being targeted when alone. Please be patient and wait during the security hold so we can all safely exit the stadium.

What is the best way to get tickets for this match and sit/stand near/with Sounders supporters? It looks like the ECS section is sold out.

Any word yet on when/where we're meeting up pre-match?

Last time I believe we met up at Flying Saucer, it seemed to work out fairly well.
