Unread postby eevilzach » Sat Mar 17, 2012 12:51:33 am

I work with a lot of latinos interested in this subgroup, where should I direct them online and who is the person(s) to contact in person on match day?

Their pre-funk spot is Merchant's, and it starts today at 3pm. Maybe just tell them to go there?

On a few of our BFV Forum posts, there is contact information. Our Facebook page is probably the best way to stay posted on our events match day.
eevilzach, if your friends have emails I can also connect with them to get them started.
Thanks for the inquiry.

Because ECS is intimidating for many people, especially those who are minorities.

The rest of us don't have to deal with bigotry due to our heritage.

You might not get that. People who have similarities will gravitate towards each other. You think its completely random that 3 of our members who grew up in Europe and speak fluent Italian are good friends?

You don't realize how intimidating ECS is when you know no one in the group.

While many of us are friendly, there are plenty who aren't. You seem to think back to when you joined, and are trying to compare it to now. It's nowhere near the same.

Hi ProdigalReality, sorry to hear that you've felt intimidated around ECS.

The motive behind La Barra Fuerza Verde has nothing to do with feeling intimidated. ECS folks and leadership have been great from the get to. If you read our mission statement, you'll get an idea behind BFV. We're interested in building the family, not being divisive.

We hope to provide an environment familiar with folks throughout Latin America/international. All are welcome, regardless of background.

Stay positive fam.

lol, we've met before. I'm not really one of those who was intimidated when joining ECS. But, I also joined when ECS was much smaller, and I had the pleasant chance of meeting Mockos and Chip in an elevator. But, I do know that the group is intimidating to many people. We've had issues in the past, where new members were turned off because the group seemed unfriendly or just general judging the group incorrectly.

Basically, my whole argument was because I remembered that there was a misunderstanding with eevilzach's buddies and their view of ECS. Goes back to this post. viewtopic.php?f=83&t=14949&p=312442#p312442

Merchants Cafe does tacos pre-match? As in street taco style? I'll definitely be dropping in prematch if that is the case :D
