I felt that our boys were against the wall all match last night. there were only a few little spurts of possessions for us, but clearly Tigres had the upper hand. most the match Tigres was in our side of 75-85 percent of the match. we were like 15-25% in their side(mostly the second half). Gspuring must have felt exhausted at the end. tigres challenged him all night. we need to play better than this in the 2nd leg.

I don't know what Sigi is talking about, because I though the rule has always been interpreted like the referees did here.

The definitions in the Laws of the Game are pretty clear too. There's no "sphere of influence", so that's something Sigi just made up. There's also nothing about how close to the ball you can be, not directly anyway.

Of course this might just be trying to influence the referees of the next match. Coaches do that frequently. One close call going our way in the second leg might make a huge difference.

Not much drop off with Tigres second XI. Plus they will be rested and probably coming with something to prove.. .that they should be in the starting XI.

In other words, this isn't any easier than it would have been otherwise, and maybe less so given these players aren't tired from playing 2 additional matches within the last week.

Every time I see mentions of them sending reserves up here, I remember that Herc Gomez was basically considered a substitute when we were up against Santos Laguna last year. It's probably not bad news, but I don't think it's good news either.
