Can somebody from Blue give us a scouting report on these guys? I don't think we played them last season...

Shale haven't played Wavebreakers yet...

For reference: ECS FC Blue beat Wavebreakers 3-1 on 1-13-13 and also beat them 5-0 on 5-5-13.

Their center back is their best player. Old guy, not very fast, you wouldn't think so from just looking at him, but his positioning is precise and he is their tactical leader, really. When he starts pushing up from CB to CM is when you know you have them desperate on the ropes. Their wingbacks are pretty weak. Go at them often, go at them hard. George was their best goal threat, and now he's on Blue :-) They also have a new CM who is alright, but if you keep tabs on him, you should be able to neutralize their offense.

There have been times that we've played them that were INCREDIBLY frustrating because we could not get on the ends of chances. They do seem to go into a shell pretty well, and it usually takes us a while to break them down. I would recommend just keeping your heads up and pushing hard, because those spaces will open up more and more at the end of the game.

You wouldn't know it by looking at their forwards, but they are deceivingly quick. They care also clumsy as long as you apply pressure.

I'm sure whoever is playing right wing for us in this game would love to punish their left-back. He's very vocal, but seems to be a dependable defender for their team as well.

This always works - attack down the sides - cross to the middle, have one person near post and one person far post. GOAL!!!

You need to draw their CB out of position. You can do that by burning their outside backs and he's forced to shift to one side. Then it's much easier to attack into the middle. If I remember correctly, he wears either 21 or 11.

Well shit, just woke up.

Technically I was up at 830, drove my buddy home and thought a power nap was a good idea. Sorry to miss the game and hope to read stories of our first W!

We won 1-0. I Lamparded it in off one of their players from close range. We bossed the game for the mot part. Great win and performance,

Congrats guys! A first win against the Wavebreakers seems fitting.
