Hello Away Travelers!
Welcome to our boys’ first match in the Lone Start State of the 2016 season. You are part of a group of 40 traveling supporters. Here is everything you and your new best friends need to know for this match day:
Tickets:
Your Houston Away Ticket(s) to stand with the Emerald City Supporters for the match on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at BBVA Compass Stadium (2200 Texas Ave, Houston, TX 77003) are attached to this email! Print your ticket(s) and bring them with you, and keep it with you for the entirety of the match.
Parking:
We have no particular parking area that we are assigned to. Parking at BBVA Stadium is $25. There are also multiple pay lots around the stadium area, including one near where we will be meeting to enter the stadium at the corner of St. Emmanuel and Rusk.
Pregame:
While there is no official prefunc set up for this match, a number of supporters are planning to enjoy a beverage and crawfish at Lucky’s (801 St Emanuel St, Houston, TX 77003). If you haven’t already, you can check out the Houston Away thread in the weareecs.com forums to see what other plans supporters have.
Stadium Entry:
Dynamo security will be meeting our group in back of Lucky’s, at the end of Rusk St. nearest the stadium, at 2 pm to escort us into the stadium. There is a map below of the stadium and surrounding area, with a black star indicating the meeting spot. Please make every effort to meet up on time and march into the stadium as a group.
Game time Expectations:
Emerald City Supporters is a supporter group. That's important to remember. Our reason for being at the match is to spur our boys on toward victory; everything else is secondary.
Our section will be in the top of Section 231. Our section will be treated as General Admission; we do not enforce seat assignments. Everyone is invited to stand where they feel most comfortable.
Participation is encouraged. Sing, chant, and go mental! Don't worry if you don't know all the words, just follow along the best you can and your support will be felt! Large flags, banners, and poles are NOT allowed in the stadium. You may bring a small flag 4 x 8 if you wish, but you may not bring a pole for it. No confetti, streamers, or pyro is allowed.
Friends or family in other MLS team gear or colors will not be allowed to stand with us. If you or someone in your group is wearing colors of another MLS team, they will be asked to remove those items. If they refuse, we will try to have your group reseated. If the stadium staff cannot accommodate a reseating, then your group will be asked to leave.
Please, do not engage in any way with home fans. Security will keep them at bay; there's no need to engage in any wordplay, taunting, threats, etc. If you have an issue, notify stadium staff.
Postgame:
If security deems it necessary, we will be held in the section for 15 - 20 minutes. Security will then escort the group back to the original pickup location. If you choose not to stay with the group, you assume the risks of your own security.
