ECS Leadership: Please demand wristbands for MLS Cup

General ECS talk.

Unread postby bgix » Fri Nov 1, 2019 12:38:51 pm

I am speaking from experience here, that it really SUCKS to have GA tickets, and not to be able to get into the section because of "Non-GA Guests". I was bumped to the 300 section for a Portland game a few years ago, and my kids were livid. I accepted it as a risk of later (but still pre-kickoff) arrival.

But for MLS Cup, there isn't going to be anywhere for the ushers to bump us *to*.

The problem was solved in the age of Wristbands, but that age appears to have passed for regular season games...

If there are no wristbands for people with *scanned* ECS / GA tickets, "copies" of GA tickets are going to be used to sneak into the section, and ECS members are going to be pissed off.

Please please please, ECS Leadership: Please ensure with the FO that they will use wristbands for this match.

Or smash in and make room. Pack the section above capacity.

Has there been progress on this or are we just not worrying about it? I'll admit I'm a little worried.

Absolutely! Stand on the seats. Double up in the rows. Overfill our section. Fuck wristbands.

Honestly, I get the knee jerk reaction to pack in the section as we want as many people in ECS as possible. However, that's ignoring the reality of what CenturyLink has had to do in the past when the section is beyond capacity, which is not allow legit GA ticketholders to enter the section for their own safety, and move them to other parts of the stadium. Obviously, that is not an option for this game due to the fact that every seat is sold.

I'm just preparing myself for the eventuality of hearing massive bitching about GA being overcrowded (legit complaint), too many flags preventing others from seeing the game (fucking get out of here with that complaint), and hopefully the massive hangover I'll have on my birthday Monday after celebrating so hard (best pain I could ask for).

From what I’ve heard from my FO friends is that wristbands will be present on Sunday.

I’m assuming somebody in ECS can confirm?

We're working the logistics to ensure the section will at a safe capacity.
